Obsession FX 30… Bow. Truth be told, I wish the state didn’t have gun season, by Monday the action slows down tremendously, which is always a bummer!

If I manage to go,which my going depends on if I can get my ATV started which I doubt,I'll be using my T/C G2 Contender rifle in 44 mag. More than likely I probably won't get to go hunting this season though, time will tell. What is it ? What’s wrong with it? Where are you located ? The choke needs installed right,it's not working at all. I'm in Portland,Jay County. I got it started today but it took me about 20 minutes.I'll see what it does Sunday when it's colder,if I can get it started then then I'll probably try going. I'd just hate to get lucky enough to get a deer back here and not be able to get it to the house. My chances of even seeing a deer back here is pretty slim though.

You need to watch Taryl fixes all on YouTube. He’ll show you how to fix her up right.

I will be carrying my 20 gauge 870. I didn’t get my new scope on the 6.5 creedmore so it will be staying home.

Hey jajwrigh, I know you've posted in the Firearms section about deer hunting with a handgun but I figured I'd post here. I had success with my Kimber Rapide, 10mm on a doe yesterday. It was cool to see the impact from my hand loaded 180 grain Hornady HP-XTP as the deer was literally 3 steps from the ladder on my stand. Caught the top of the left lung and the bottom of the right lung and she piled up some 40 yards later.

My first several deer were with handguns,44 magnums then some with my T/C Contender 35 Rem. I've only used a shotgun 1 time and didn't see any. Congrats.

As usual, I carry something out of the cabinet that hasn't made meat. This year it was the 308 and 357 pistol. Saturday I could have doubled with the 357 within 40 minutes of legal light but it was about 2 hours into the day that I remembered it was in my pack. Oops. This morning I got to stretch the legs on the 308 and promptly sailed one over the back of a good buck at about 200 yards. After a few moments of confusion he turned and ran right at me. Second round found its mark at about 175. Honestly, I'm glad this one wasn't 15 yards away like my first with the 30/30.

I'll be patrolling roadway for trespassers/poachers. If I hunt afternoon it will probably still be my bow honestly. So, anything between a .243 and a 50 BMG is legal!! LOL
