It's all bull. I know my deer very well in my neighborhood. I have one group around last week of October, most around 10 to 14, and last group around 24-27 of November. I even know what group for early and last. The old doe that had triplets now for eight years is the late group.

Hahahahahahahahahaha. And are those your Ohio deer you’re talking about?

Common sense This world has lost common sense.

The map was about the “PEAK” of the rut.
I’ve ALWAYS said November 10th is PEAK in my area.

I figured give or take a week on each side of the date and you’ll be in the action.

I have read that the most P&Y entries are taken on Nov 7.
I am off Fri-Mon Nov 5-8th, and will be hunting those dates solid. Then off first week of gun and first week of mz. If I cant get it done in that time, I'm going home. Lol

Woody, the date on that map is Dec 2020, and the data is compiled from vehicle/deer accidents. I wonder how far that will be off this year, 2021?

I have killed bucks following does from Oct to Jan so the “rut” must be whenever I am in the woods. At least I keep thinking that and it helps keep me motivated and in the stand longer.

If I cant get it done in that time, I'm going home. Lol I can't say I have any historical data on my buck kills and the rut. However, November 7th has always been my favorite day in the woods. I try my best to pull off all day sits then as well. I've killed a couple of bucks on November 7th but, again, I can't really say anything in regards to the rut for my area each year.

So what EXACTLY do they consider "peak" rut? Is that the day they are saying the most does are bred? Is that the day they are saying most does come into heat? If you listen to the world of experts, the mature bucks are "locked down" with a does for a few days before she is ready to breed. So does that make these days the height of the chasing before the actual breeding takes place?
How about we just go back to the old standard idea of archery hunters need to be in the woods as much as possible starting the last week of October. Everything from then through the first week of gun season should have mature bucks on their feet and out of their minds plenty enough to make it easier for us humans to kill them.
