They wanted to put a new port authority on the Ohio river in Dearborn county but the site was so contaminated with fly ash it’s going to take millions of dollars to remove it all. It wasn’t lined and is now threatening the water table. Now with the road going through Switzerland County it just opened up a whole can of worms. There will now be a direct route to 71 and 74. No one has said port but its been under handed by gov to make it happen.

The link to the new bridge between Henderson and Evansville is on a farm next to my wife’s brothers. Mostly just farm ground but floods every spring. I’m wondering if they will do a archaeology study? Lots of artifacts and a few skeletons have been unearthed in this area.

They want to change US 30 from Ohio to Illinois to limited access dual lane. I am sure they will take out a lot of woods and wetlands with this project. The new AMAZON facility in Ft Wayne has nothing to do with this.

He had to do SOMETHING to draw public attention away from his handling of the "damnpanic"...

Coal fly ash flew under the radar, due to federal exemptions, until the Kingston (TN) blowout occurred.

Brother in law said there’s been surveying done on the old dirt road between farms. Going to change the landscape out there with a elevated road close to my big bucks woods.

No consolation to you, but there will be FAR less change north of the river than there will be south of the river.
If they choose to bridge it like they did with the Patoka bottoms, you may not see much change in deer behavior. But if they elevate the roadway on earth without some wildlife crossings, then it may be another story.

They just repaved Sharon Road that leads from the highway past my house. Why? I don’t know as it wasn’t that bad to begin with. Seems like a waste of money to me.

A lot of situations with funded money they have to use it or lose it. New roads, progress, new development are not bad things. A stagnant economy, no work, no new jobs would seem to not be so good. We live in an awesome state, despite our idiot governor that tried to kill it economically. There are going to be people moving here from places like Chicago so get used to the progress. Or just sit back and complain and watch it all pass you by.

They are cutting out slight buckles in Rt 30 in a 7 mile stretch West of Plymouth, and re-packing it with blacktop. I don't know where the guys got trained at, but the parts that they "fixed" are just as bad as the parts that they cut out.

I need to buy some land in Vevey. That beautiful town will be changed forever. If you draw a straight line from SR101/50 to Markland dam it run right through my deer stand and brothers farm.

One of the "Mid-States Corridor" potential routes runs through my place. I sure hope they pick one of the other identified routes. If they do come through, I'd prefer they put it right through the house, rather than just alongside the property line. I'd rather move than live next to a highway.

When they expanded Highway 50 by me years ago on guy fought it and fought it to save his house. They got it of course.
