From their site:
"Can I bring more than one firearm? Yes, you may bring a backup firearm and ammunition as long as it meets the same requirements and you have submitted the rifle and ammunition information to the park along with your primary firearm and ammunition information. You may only qualify with one rifle and must use that rifle for the remainder of the operational period."
So you can bring a backup, you just can't use it.

"Self-certify a high level of physical fitness ability"
I'm out. To me that seems like I have to pack the critter out.....

Just hire someone with mules. It would truly be the hunt of a lifetime. The money you would save on not having to buy tags, etc., just spend on hiring someone with animals to pack it out. I would love to do it.

I’m sure they will have a pack out service like tag and drag not many people could do it on their own what that’s cost is who knows but there is going to be people doing it I’m sure

Brother wait till they get close to the top before you pull the trigger How long have you been hunting. You have to know that said animal will drop in its tracks and just when you release a sigh of relief with one dying kick proceeds to roll to the absolute bottom of the hill.

It says north rim, so make sure it's nowhere near the edge when you pull the trigger.
Then hire the burros that take people to the bottom to get it pack it to the truck.

There's at least two lookout towers nearby on the north rim that would make for good glassing. Looks like the biggest physical issue would be dealing with all the blowdown from beetle kill.

Long enough to know to hunt flat farm ground that I can drive my tractor right to my deer👍 I was out in WY mule deer hunting with a buddy the ground had lots of ravines but one was like 8 miles deep might be a stretch but my buddy keep saying I know they are down in the ravine I keep telling him I don’t care I’m not carrying a deer out of that hole finally I gave in but told him unless it’s big don’t shoot it no sense in killing ourselfs for a smaller deer. Well don’t ya know he drops one and honestly it wasn’t even as big as some we had passed up on top So now I’m standing at the bottom looking up at 8 miles of the worst tangled up blow down section of ground on planet earth. I swear I almost shot him and took his deer I believe it took us dang near 6 hours to get that deer up and out of that hole

I was on top of a vertical wall that ranged 600' straight down, and it was a few hundred yards further out and down. Nope. Not worth it. Now if it was close to 200" or close to 30" wide, I would have shot.

I would of taken the shot myself on a nice mule deer but when your seeing deer the same size with 1/4 of the work you know the deer I’m taken home. I’d do it again but it be a lot longer time frame to get it out

I looked in this a bit more it’s more killing then hunting you may or may not get meat you have to turn it in and they will hand out as they see fit It appears to be headed to the local Indian tribes or at least a share of it is No pack horse or vehicle to help yet you need to get it out and turn it in It appears you may kill more then one but may only keep one hide or head but must also be turned in It also looks like a CO could be with you and point out the one to kill
I’m not a 100% all on this it’s hard to wade your way through all of it but If all this is true I’m not going to sign up

It’s a cull, not really a hunt.
I don’t think I’d do it even if I could.
