It’s a cull, not really a hunt. I don’t think I’d do it even if I could. Not really any different then when the natives hunted them, they culled the weaker ones as easier prey. How did you hunt them back then Woody? Spear? Arrow? 😆

We used to have women at the bottom of the cliff ready to skin and butcher but we lost a couple good ones when a 2,000 pound bull fell on them. I told them not to try and catch the bison, but you know how women are. 🦬 🦬 🦬

I did not realize it was a hunt like that.
It really is stupid to have hunts like this I realize that they want it done fast and over as to not upset the non hunting people but if that’s all they want why not use our sharp shooters be good practice for them or something along this line.
Myself I believe they missed a golden opportunity to make money for the wildlife and area around it.
Could of sold hunts for 1500 2000 bucks myself I’d probably go I’m paying that much for a beef cow why not try a buffalo other then I know I’m getting the beef it’s about the same weight cost Don’t know that I’d would of hired a guide but maybe I know I’d hire packers if it was down at the bottom probably stay in a hotel motel eat out once or twice bought gas snacks ice beer pop. Just seems they could of done a better job and raised a good amount of needed cash

You would have to be in good shape to do this! Get the crew from HUNTING PUBLIC and MEATEATER to help out. Surprised some of the Native American Americans don't do this. A packer could clean up. Packing a bull out would be a huge job carrying out all of the meat and head and hide would be a man killer of a job.

You guys are thinking aboot this the wrong way!!! With all the money you don't spend on a tag and permits you spend on a rancher with a helicopter. Choot'em and chopper him out in one piece, over to the butcher and done. NO SWEAT!! Simple.

Brother wait till they get close to the top before you pull the trigger How long have you been hunting. You have to know that said animal will drop in its tracks and just when you release a sigh of relief with one dying kick proceeds to roll to the absolute bottom of the hill. Oh boy how many of us have been there!

If you spend the time to dig through the DNR website you will see its in the works a share of the meat will given to them. Another reason I believe it’s a poorly run program it could be a great idea but leave to the government to screw it up. Imagine spend the time gas and cost associated with it for a chance at getting 10 lbs of meat you have to turn meat in and they will divide it at the end of each hunt. I’m sure it would be fun and one heck of a adventure but if I was going to do it I’d spend a few thousand more and go to a ranch and do it. I’ve often thought about trying to do the draw at the elk refuge but the cost and odds are not in your favor. Just. my opinion I was all in till I started digging around more

Been up in Canada seen a whole moose fly over more then once and that is the straight up truth I wasn’t in the crown at all one of the outfitters does fly in hunts and that is how they get them out

Wasn't Yellowstone trying to cull elk at one time? I could be wrong on that (I thought we talked about it here once) whoever it was didn't allow hunters to do the job, that never sat well with me. Why nit let some folks who REALLY want to be successful at this give it a shot? US parks dept must have some bunny huggers in there.
