Probably not for Lyme, but I like my red meats.

I'd be open to it.
I'm not anti-vac, I just don't trust the rushed covid vaccine.

I'd be open to it. I'm not anti-vac, I just don't trust the rushed covid vaccine. The hype of rushed COVID is over stated. The only thing that was rushed was paperwork. All the testing was held to the same standards, other than allowing the testing phases to run concurrently. With over a Million Hoosier’s have taken the first dose and over 600k fully vaccinated I say the record speaks for itself.

Well, it has still not been in use long enough to determine if the vaccine will even keep you from getting Covid once you get both shots, let along having a "record that speaks for itself".
The wife's oncologist has already been vaccinated and is still concerned about being protected from getting Covid and more importantly, passing it along to anyone else.
It just is not proven yet on the populace.

Ok... I was talking about side effects not how effective it was!
You know of anyone getting COVID-19 after full vaccination?

My 2c
I was hesitant to receive vaccine at the beginning. Being one of the firsts to qualify to receive it. My wife and I both have received both doses and had no reactions.
Why did I get it? Because I didn’t wanna infect someone else, get them sick or kill them unknowingly.
My friend gave it to his father in law during the holidays because they refused to social distance. He is dead now after a month on ventilator and in a coma. That friend has to live knowing he passed the virus to his fil. Friends whole family got it but still had dinners together. Poor decision. He regrets it now everyday. Now he will never have holidays with fil ever.
At my job a staff member unwillingly brought it in from going to church. It went through our building with several testing positive. Most had mild symptoms. Not everyone got sick either. No hospitalizations thank goodness.
Guess my point is it’s you maybe spreading it unknowingly. Showing no signs or symptoms. A simple vaccine will help protect you and love ones. Will it stop it from happening? Who knows. But does it help? It sure does.

Ok... I was talking about side effects not how effective it was! You know of anyone getting COVID-19 after full vaccination? Here's my issue with your statement. And this is just me trying to have a civil discussion about this topic. That being said, People worked with asbestos for 10, 20, or 30 without any sign of trouble... and then they died. I am in no way an anti-vaxer, however, the typical vaccine takes 15-20 years on average to test. There is a good reason for that. Johnson and Johnson baby powder was used for 80 years and just recently was it proven to cause ovarian cancer. Ranitidine (zantac) has been used since 1983 and prescribed for all ages for treating indigestion. It was just proven in the last year or two that it causes cancer. Everyone needs to make their own decision on the vaccine, but to say that it has been proven harmless, in my opinion, is very premature. Just my two cents.

That can be said about most all chemicals that’s beings put on or in your body.Risk vs reward! Father Time is the biggest test factor. My point was there has been very little side effects at the current time with the vaccine given in Indiana .... yes that could change! BTW.... where are you reading it takes 15-20 years to test vaccines in modern medicine?

I looked @ the data showing low rates of infection and even lower death rates with covid, but the wild card in all of this is will I be the one who dies from it or become a "long hauler" fighting it for months and maybe years. The other thing I thought about was that I wasn't willing to unknowingly become a spreader if I can help it, and as such I took my first dose yesterday and will get my second in three weeks. Will it come back to bite me later? Who knows, but it's the best thing we have @ this point.

So.....how about that Lyme vaccine. I'd be open to it. Every time I get bitten by a tick I end up with a small lump under my skin that have been diagnosed as a tick bite granuloma by my doctor. I've had to have two bites surgically removed and a third was treated with medication as I went to the doctor as soon as I pulled the tick out. Here's a link... www.medicinenet.com/image-collection/tick_bite_granuloma_picture/picture.htm

I was anti doctor for years. Then got my CDL and had to go regularly for physicals. Age, heredity, hard physical labor career, and a care free lifestyle have begun to catch up. I got hooked up with an awesome doc that has been putting me back together for years now. He has kept me on a good track, has advised things such as the flu shot. I was getting bronchitis regularly and pneumonia twice. Since the flu shot, 5 or 6 years now, I have not been sick since. Coincidence? I doubt it. He recommends the vaccine, says he got it, so I am going on my docs word and gonna get vaccinated. I have a family to support, work in a high traffic exposure job, and have some health quirks that label me ad high risk. I just cant ignore all that and roll the dice.

I was in bed with the flu for 3 days in 2005. After that, I started getting my yearly flu shot and haven't had it since.

BTW.... where are you reading it takes 15-20 years to test vaccines in modern medicine? I agree with risk vs reward with things. For me though, the risk of injecting a chemical into my flesh for a disease that we didn't even know existed 14 months ago is something that I don't feel is worth the risk. Beside that, I have had covid. It was no worse than a cold (other than losing taste and smell for a month). I understand people's concerns about spreading it to people who would not deal with it as well, however, we treat it simply like this: if we are sick, we don't go around people. We treat it no differently than the flu. As far as where did I ge that data: www.health.ny.gov/prevention/immunization/vaccine_safety/science.htmwww.ifpma.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/IFPMA-ComplexJourney-2019_FINAL.pdf - 4th slide
