Ok... I was talking about side effects not how effective it was! You know of anyone getting COVID-19 after full vaccination? Don't know anyone catching it at all right now.

NOt sure how Lyme vaccine discussion got to Covid vaccine dusscussion but that’s ok as long as we all stay civil. In the past we have had knock down drag out uncivil arguments instead of reasoned discussions.
So far so good.

I don't think any differently of anybody that disagrees with me. God gave everyone a brain to make their own decisions and that is a beautiful thing.

And this is just me trying to have a civil discussion about this topic. That being said, People worked with asbestos for 10, 20, or 30 without any sign of trouble... and then they died. I am in no way an anti-vaxer, however, the typical vaccine takes 15-20 years on average to test. There is a good reason for that. Johnson and Johnson baby powder was used for 80 years and just recently was it proven to cause ovarian cancer. Ranitidine (zantac) has been used since 1983 and prescribed for all ages for treating indigestion. It was just proven in the last year or two that it causes cancer. Everyone needs to make their own decision on the vaccine, but to say that it has been proven harmless, in my opinion, is very premature. Just my two cents. I look at it a bit differently. There is no way that we as a country can survive if we socially distance, keep businesses closed or operating at a reduced capacity etc. for 15-20 years. With the current state of affairs in the country what choices do we have? Stay a hermit for that long, get the vaccine and go back to daily lives quickly, or become a pariah? If the vaccine is not the solution, what do you offer as an alternative?

If the vaccine is not the solution, what do you offer as an alternative? I totally agree with you that this country can't survive like this. There have already been tens of thousands of people who have lost their livelihoods because the government forced them to shut down (which is totally unconstitutional by the way and never should have happened). My alternative is this: each person should LIVE LIFE making the best decisions in all circumstances for themselves. Somehow people in this country have forgotten that the government is not our savior. They are to SERVE the people of this country with the people's best interest in mind. Forcing shutdowns, jailing and fining anybody who questions their "authority", and basically making it impossible for many people to live is not what the government is for. Nor is the government in place to coddle us and make every decision for us. They don't know what is best for you and your family and neither does anyone else besides you and your family. Somehow we have come up with this notion that the government is our savior and it is absolutely false. If you want to get the vaccine, get the vaccine. If you want to shut your business down out of caution, shut it down. If you want to live life as if nothing is going on out of the ordinary, then live life as if everything is normal. The idea that anybody knows what is best for anybody else is absolutely assinine. People need to take responsibilty to make their own decisions and accept the outcome of their decisions. That is my alternative.

I will get the Lyme vac when it comes out. Also my second Covid shot the 16th. As far as 20 years for the Lyme shot if everything goes right 2023. From the article; "The Phase 1 clinical trial on 66 human subjects began last week. If effective, the shot will be available in the Spring of 2023."
