There are many loads that work great in the Savage. Mine is 4759 and 250 Barnes MZ. Heres a website dedicated to the Savage. We started this site over 6 years ago and most of the development of loads and modifications came from there. h.h. dougva.proboards34.com/index.cgi?board=Savage

I have 4 savages and 3 SMIs and two of my sons each have a savage. The smokers have stayed in the safe after the first smokeless was purchased. I also have two extremely accurate slug guns that never see the woods. You could say I'm hooked!

I shoot 10x under a MMP sabot and a Hornady 250gr XTP mag. What kind of accuracy are you getting out of that 250 grn XTP mag?

Around 1 3/4" at 100 yards.
I have worked loads that are better in accuracy out of my gun but these components are easy to get and hit like a ton of bricks.
