We have a stray cat problem in our neighborhood. They Mark there territory all over everything including the front window of the house and my boat I’ve trapped and relocated 6 of them. The problem is that the 2 tom cats will not go into the trap. Shooting them is out of the question cause of being in town. Any suggestions on getting them in the trap or keeping them away?

I trapped a cat in my Live anamial trap (Havaheart). I use the larger trap that is designed for raccoons. I put a piece of PVC tubing inside the top of the cage and hung it there with a long zip tie. take a spoon and then add some sardines into both ends of the tubing. Set the trap up and wait. The cats and raccoons can't resiste the smell of the fish. If that does not work then call animal control and make them take care of the problem. If they can't or won't take care of the cats then I know what I would do if I were you. Do you have a pellet gun?

Feather on a string over a foot hold trap. Similar to trapping bobcats.

Animal control told me I’m pretty much in my own so I might just have to get they pellet gun out I’ve just been trying to be somewhat nice lol

What has animal control input been on the relocating you are doing or have done?
They won’t take them?

Feather on a string over a foot hold trap. Similar to trapping bobcats. I needed to use a foothold once on a big tomcat that wouldn't go in a trap. We kept a small doghouse on our porch for our cat so I put some tuna in the back and buried the foothold under some cedar chips at the entrance. He was not happy.

Conibear #220 with sardine in onion sack to hold it together , slide it up on the trip forks. Nice and quiet, roll the deceased in a old dog food bag and deposit in the trash. Stake it down through the coils, they will flop for a bit and buy the spring compressor for the trap also.

The big one running around here will climb up on the table outside on the porch look at me then turn around and spray the window.

Bait the area, leave a portable radio on out on the back porch [they will get use to it], use Sub Sonic out of a good squirrel rifle. Problem solved.

My air rifle is an older one and LOUD. I would rather use a .22 shot or sub-sonic. I see some of the newer ones have a suppressor built in. I would not mind trying one of those. Out here I would just use my 20 gauge. Load it up and drop down the road a bit, discrettly of course, they think their cat got hit by a car.

Just remember anything going much over 900 fps will make a supersonic crack, suppressor or not.

Anytime you shoot anything there is a chance of it running off( in this case running home) I’ve never had anything get out of a conibear, ever. They are unforgiving.
