So what's the National definition of a Trophy animal? And Trophy Hunting? That's the point... Look it up yourself and you'll find that most definitions tend to be derogatory to hunters and hunting.

Hunters being jealous or disrespectful to other hunters is more dentrimental to our sport than hunters managing their own properties IMO.

Just like being disqualified to submit an Ohio buck even thought it might have come from Indiana since I only live around 6 to 7 miles away and there are a lot of woods from the border line to my spot. Darn rules and regulations.

(Joking) personally i'm good with being able to count your harvest from home state, but really isn't fair for those guys that can hunt several different states to count all their harvest in totals... Take those beefs to the BOSS... Have you killed a buck already. Did I miss pictures???

Darn rules and regulations. After your buck last year, you're due for a couple years of tag soup anyway. Law of averages and all that. haha

Not sure why the rule even change per your point exactly. Hunters can be one serious group, self included at times.

Two little morning so far and a few does. You never know when it's your turn. Maybe yours this year! Good luck.

I've got duff pretty well patterned and plan on slipping in when he goes to work and getting that big buck he keeps posting trail cam pics of.

Scoop. My brother is divorced now and my x sister-n-law is not there anymore. She did not like me at all. Same age thing I guess. Over time she didn't like anyone. Now I can stay over night etc. To keep hunting I had to find a way to hunt on my very small place (3 acres) and or drive out early morning and back after dark to hunt Indiana. Now I'm free to stay and hunt at my brothers. Good times are back. I did pick up 5 more acres at home. So I have my 3 acres with neighbor 2 acres and across the private drive I now have two 5 acre lots together, and 5 more acres with 5 acres in between. So on that ridge 15 acres out of 20 acres and 5 directly across. One stand on mine and one on the 2 fives together. Every lot has a home and sometimes to much is going on to hunt. You never know so I just go out when it seems quiet. Mostly during bad weather!

We looked for a summer to buy once. Never found the right place.

I’m not sure on waiting I had a spot some years back that I killed deer on all the time it was a urban lot the deer didnt seem to care about noise or people killed a nice buck watching a guy and his buddies cook on his grill not more than 75 yards away I could hear them talk Killed a doe the same way his wife was out trimming plants I believe the deer felt safe even with people out and about. Wish I still had that spot but owners moved into a condominium was one of my customers

Just yesterday I had three does 10 yards away when I was working on the bees. They seem to know it you are hunting or not. I turned around they were right behind me. They did turn and trotted away.

Hunters being jealous or disrespectful to other hunters is more dentrimental to our sport than hunters managing their own properties IMO. Perfectly said boonechaser. I`ve seen and heard one "serious" hunter chastise a guy for killing a buck that the "serious hunter" thought was an inferior deer that should have been let walk. The guy who killed the "inferior" deer had been as happy as he could be with his deer, until berated by the "serious hunter". It hurt my heart to see the guy so deflated when it should have been one of the happiest moments in his life, and was for a few minutes. To address the question someone asked earlier about "what is a trophy deer", we know that can`t really be pinned down for obvious reasons, but you can kind of answer that by going the other direction. "Trophy deer" are the deer that have caused so much land to be lost to everyday, blue-collar hunters and gobbled up by leasing agents. "Trophy deer" are the deer that cause people like the "serious hunter" to berate the guy who just killed, what to him was a fantastic deer. To generalize, "Trophy deer" are the deer that the "serious hunters" wouldn`t dream of shooting, and if at all possible, will use any means, whether legislative, or intimidation, to get others to fall into lockstep with their vision of trophy deer utopia. In reality, we don`t need to precisely define what a trophy deer is, it`s enough just to define what is not a trophy deer, because that is really what drives obsession with inches of antler.

To me a trophy deer is one that you'd be satisfied with to put up on the wall. To me, a trophy doesn't just mean inches of antler. Heck, to me, I'd get a full body mount of a spike if it was a piebald - that's a trophy in my eye.
