Good luck to those sticking it out. I finally got it done about 7 this morning on a nice bird. Might be my best season since I got the slip on hunt after hunt & frustration was high. Stuck with & paid off this morning. Congratulations!

All settled in. Rain is holding off so far and the wind has died down.

I can't get a break! Lol! Had three toms gobbling straight west of me. I do a little soft calling and purring and they start closing the distance fast. They get 30 yards in front of the cedar fence row. I'm 40 yards beyond it. They hang-up for a minute gobbling and strutting. Then here comes Mrs hot shot dragging them off by their snoods. Not the best pic.

Well at my last post I had changed spots, about 30 minutes later some horse back riders came through on the trail I was set up off of on the hill and heading further back into the woods I hadn't been yet, I packed up and started hiking back to the truck. Never heard a single gobble today out in Owen Putnam. My season is done tag soup, Until next spring. Still had a lot of fun, watching that doe check out the decoy was a delight.
Good luck Genesis and the rest of you still chasing, I am rooting for you! Be safe and god bless!

Looks like I'm done for the evening. Larry Curly and Moe gobbled again behind but, they never showed. I'll be back in the same field tomorrow morning that I was this morning.

Good luck in the morning! My season is over. Spent the day as the announcer for the Cummins Jr Solar Car races for middle school students. My son is the director and since he and his crew are all Engineers they like me to do all the “yackety yakkin”! Off to Chicago for another long week tomorrow! So go get ‘em Brandon!

Headed out for the final hunt. The last day came upon us quickly it seems. I'll only be out for a couple of hours this morning. I seen a few toms yesterday morning along with jakes and hens. I only need one volunteer!! Good luck to you all! Hint safe and God Bless!

And my season is pretty much over. I may get a chance to try and catch them going to the roost but, chances are slim

I went out with my buddy this morning. He is the one that got me interested in turkey hunting from the start. I got my bird this year at his place.
We had a big Tom come out at about the 200yds. We worked him in to about 75yd, where he hung up and wouldn't budge. We had several gobbling around us, and finally had 2 Tom's pop out of a swamp about 60yd, but turned and paralleled our field. Could have went right or left. They chose left, we were to the right. 50/50 chance I guess.
All birds eventually moved on, and we called it quits. Had a great day with a great friend. Can't beat that.

Well, it's tag soup for me unless one walks up to the house. Almost got one with the truck yesterday in Winamac going to make the last fish delivery. Wanted to get up early and go out behind the house this morning but the past week of burning the candle at both ends put a nix on that.
