I think it's finally time to replace my 2005 trailblazer. I'm considering a ford f150 as my next vehicle and since I need the crew cab I will be looking at the short bed. I think I'll need a topper to to be able to stack stuff since I'll have the short bed. Anyone have a recommendation of a place in Indiana to get one? I assume I would get an ARE or Leer.

Eagle craft inc. in Plymouth,Indiana. I purchased mine from them in 2007, I called them and gave them the vehicle information from my truck including the color code. I told them that I wanted a fold down front window so I could clean both sides and I didn't want tinted glass because it makes it hard to see when backing at night, I also told them leave off their name and logo badge. I drove to their factory and in less than an hour it was installed. It's been 10 years and there is not a crack or blemish in the paint. I would recommend this company

Looks like eagle truck tops are no longer made.

Buying new or used? There are ads in auto and rv magazine and a lot of time junkyards will have them.

As far as the topper I will buy new unless I could find one use without too much effort

Good luck keep us updated

Depends on what color you get versus color of truck but if you want it color matched you are gonna have to have it painted somewhere along the line anyway.

Where are you located? I've got one for sale that I think originally came off of a Ford F150. hunt-indiana.com/post/528459/thread
I have some more pics on my phone if you're interested PM me. I really need to get rid of it.

My current one is ARE brand purchased from an outfit called Z-Tech in Kokomo, no complaints. I would give a strong recommendation on trying to purchase a new truck with the 6.5' vs 5.5' bed length. Can't hardly even lay decent sized fishing poles in the 5.5' beds.
Check local car lots. They often take the toppers off of the used trade ins and you can pick them up dirt cheap. Might be wrong color, but they can be painted pretty cheap.

Another vote for the 6.5' beds. A buddy has the shorter one and he can't fit much in it. Has to have it or the truck won't fit in his garage.

I have had 2 short beds, and they are gone! I hate the single cab I got, but love the long bed. Dont know I could live with out. Unfortunately, a 4 door long bed is like a bus!

I ended up with 4 door shortbed so end up using a trailer for most hauling anyways
