So I'm hopefully looking at getting some kind of ATV, UTV, or 4 wheeler in the next few months. Mostly I'd be using it for hauling things like a chain saw, brush cutter, tree stand, or perhaps a deer if I ever manage to get one in and out of my place.
Mostly I'd be using it for hauling so attachment options like a sprayer are a plus, but aren't critical. The wife would also be coming along a fair amount so I'm thinking something two seater would be preferable.
I was looking at some used Kawasaki mules, but I thought I would ask around here for recommendations and experiences.
Thanks.

From what you said you would be using it for I'd go with a UTV. Having a bed and a second seat will come in handy. I've road in a couple of mules and they seemed like nice trucks.

Hilly, but nothing too rough. My place is in Orange County and I've got a pretty decent trail cut through the middle of the property that puts me pretty close to wherever I would need to get things to.

UTV is the ticket , brother in law has a mule & it has been treated rough and it’s still ticking , I bought a Polaris ranger limited to get the extra leg room for me & adjustable seat for the wife . The ranger has a ton of aftermarket options you can put on it , good luck 👍

Well swetz, it's not a conventional ATV/UTV, but the BMW GS (Gelande Strasse, roughly translated Land/Street) will work for some hauling duties!

I have a kawasaki 6010 mule and a polaris ranger crew. Hands down the ranger is the better utv. They both have their places. I use the ranger to cut firewood, drag a fence on food plots after seeding etc.The ranger is better in the woods and on the trails. The mule has a different center of gravity which you have to be careful on steep trails. The ranger is more stable because of it's longer wheelbase. I use both but the ranger a lot more.

How much you are looking to spend will dictate what your choices are...I have a midsize Ranger 500 and can't imagine going back to a time I didn't have it. I ended up selling my Sportsman 800 4wheeler because it literally sat for a few years after I bought the Ranger.

Thanks for advice all.
As far as budget, trying to stay around $8k or maybe $9k for the right vehicle.

That much money opens a lot of doors....if I were buying again I'd buy the exact same thing I already have.

I can't give much advice on what brand, but I'd look at what dealers are close if it need service that you can't do yourself.
If given a choice between carburetor or fuel injection I'd go injection. UTV over ATV, dump bed, winch, extra lights both forward and especially rearward. You need rear lights when backing up at night. Diesels need less maintenance than gas motors and if sitting a while the fuel won't go bad near as fast as gas. While it isn't mandatory, having a cab with heat and A/C sure is nice when it's cold, wet or dusty outside. 4x4 for sure. Doing any dirt work on a food plot gets the operator dusty, hence the enclosed cab option. Get a hitch on it, you can tow a trailer mounted sprayer or put one in the bed.

If it were not for the 2nd seat I would go with a compact tractor with bucket, clamp on forks, some 3 point attachments.
Not as fast but handier than a shirt pocket

I know a new one is out of the budget but a used one might. A client has a RTV1100 and while it isn't fast it's a workhorse and other than annual maintenance hasn't given any problems. 2/4 wheel drive, dump bed, hear & A/C, etc., etc.
