I bought my first Savage in 2002 and the second in I believe 2007. Had a pacnor barrel ordered for the first in 2008 when rifles first came legal... cancelled the order and bought a 358.
I'll take a MZ over a shotgun any day of the week. I'll take smokeless over substitute twice any day of the week.
The only reason I even have an encore is because dad cannot load the Savage.
I will say the ease of Blackhorn 209 makes subs tolerable.

Ive never had my inline fail me yet. Thats all i use. Never seen the need for multiple shots so quickly In my opinion the smokeless is slower to reload because I have to deal with a funnel to pour powder down the tube. Don't have to do that with my BP muzzleloaders. I have yet to have my Renegade, Omega, or either smokeless fail me.

I "repurposed" some glitter tubes my wife had to carry powder loads. Tips easily into the barrel.

I "repurposed" some glitter tubes my wife had to carry powder loads. Tips easily into the barrel. I have to have a funnel to get past the Magna porting. I carry my reloads in the same double-ended Butler Creek tubes I carried my BP reloads in.

I "repurposed" some glitter tubes my wife had to carry powder loads. Tips easily into the barrel. I repurposed some of my .25-06 brass. I bought the rubber caps at Lowe's. My plan is to put about 56 grains of IMR 4198 in each for quick reloads. The cartridge necks will make nice funnels. It takes some healthy brass to hold that much powder, so I was grateful that my new HPR was one of them. Lol!

I shoot 76gr of 10x....tis a wonderfully brutal thing to shoot. My load should be very gentle. Lol! Another interesting tidbit, Woody, is that you can also rebarrel a Savage or Remington centerfire rifle action to create a SML (smokeless muzzleloader).

I shoot 76gr of 10x....tis a wonderfully brutal thing to shoot. 60 grains h4198 and 195 Barnes in a sabot for the Encore conversion and 10 grains International under 50 grains h4198 with a 250 grain .448 Monoflex sabotless for the Remington. Haven't clocked the Encore yet, but the Rem runs 2606fps.

I use a 300gr Barnes original in a black crush rib sabot. Just in case I come across a T-Rex...

And then there are these. Shilen barrel on a 700ML receiver. Scope looks like a Buckmaster. What power? I just put a 4x12 on an AR 450 BM. I wonder if I'm over powered but my eyes are not what they were.

I stayed away from Muzzleloaders because I didn't want the hassle of cleaning them after EVERY shooting session or every hunt. I bought my first Savage ML-I in 2001 or 2002 and never looked back. You don't have to be any more careful than if you reloaded for centerfire rifle guns. I now have 3 Savages, two in .50 cal, one in .45 cal.
Never have had a misfire or hang fire.

I shoot 76gr of 10x....tis a wonderfully brutal thing to shoot. 70 grains of H-4198 in my .45 cal Savage PacNor w/195g Barnes bullet. In the .50 cal I have loaded it down so my nephew could shoot it 200g SST had 1,000 fpe at 100 yds. (1125 fps mv) No more recoil than a .22lr. I have also loaded it UP to ,458 Win Mag velocities with 350g Barnes "X" bullets, both with duplex loads and straight powder loads. But my go to load was IMR-4759 behind a 250g SST going at 2350 fps mv. Now this year I still have to dial the .45 cal in with the sabotless 300g AeroMax bullets.
