The 10 round rifle rule limit .....is this rule in affect for all Rifles while Deer Hunting this year or is just for the HPR rounds on private land?
Looking at the IC it seems to cover all Rifles while Deer hunting...IMO

What about the counties where you can kill more than 10 deer? I'm going to have to start lining up some 2-fers.

Dumb rule that will be unenforceable and not even checked.

Dumb rule that will be unenforceable and not even checked. They count rounds on special waterfowl hunts basically on every contact. It's enforceable.

Why stop at 10 make it 5 People would take a lot more time making sure everything was just right which in my mind equates less wounded deer , better success and for a selfish reason I admit but don’t have to listen to the inevitable rangewar of Hail Mary shoot till your out of bullets Vollys

A bad hunter is a bad hunter regardless of what equipment he or she is using. I've seen and heard of guys taking bad shots with bows and guns that just end up wounding animals that those hunters are never able to recover afterwards. Should we make rules putting restrictions on the GOOD hunters because of the few bad apples? I don't think so. That being said; carrying 10 rounds into the field is the rule, and I'll abide by it.

It's a non issue to me. If you need 10 rounds to kill a deer, you better find another sport. I have one box of twenty round 30-06 that has 11 left in it. Those missing 9 rounds accounted for 8 Wyoming mule deer. I never carry more than 6 shells when hunting anyway.

On the topic of restricting shells some Indiana fish and wildlife areas restrict the number of shells you can carry for doves and waterfowl. After witnessing the terrible display of repeated sky busting that I saw today which was on private land it wouldn't bother me one bit. I always cringe when I hear someone firing round after round when I am deer hunting, the first might have been aimed the rest were just someone throwing out lead.

I sent the dnr a message about Pistol Cartridge Rifles and they said their is no limit on pistol rounds you can possess on public land. They did say that some properties may have a limit,

I normally carry 10 in my pocket and 1 in the chamber, just leaving 1 of them at home won't bother me.

Id be out of ammo when the buck came through.

I bought a 10 round Pmag for my AR for this reason. I know if CO saw me with a 30 round mag he would assume its full. No reason to take more than 10.
