Wow, you guys must tip toe thru the tulips to get that kind of life out of boots and socks. Lol. I work in an otr truck/trailer shop, and pound the concrete 8hrs a night. I have been thru most brands over the years, but none last me over a year. The insoles crush and wear down, and that means aching feet, legs, and back quickly. I am currently using Dickies brand, due to being the most comfortable, but still only getting 7-8mos tops. Being tall and thick , 6'3" 300+ lbs, surely doesnt help my cause tho. You try Wolverine Durashocks?

One of my biggest problems is wide feet. I take 4E. Most boots do not fit or feel good when tried on, so I surely pass up some that might be the best out there. I do not buy into the BS that boots break in. If they hurt when I put them on, no way I could wait for them to break in.

I wear 13 EEE or 13 EW. Those things weren't worn more than a couple of times.

I feel same way If they aren't comfortable in the first 5 minutes they won't be comfortable in 10 days. I think instead of breaking in your foot just gets used to being uncomfortable after awhile

Well I'm finding out that the in store stock doesn't even compare to the online stock. For example, I really want to find a local store that has the KEEN Mt Vernon boot. After a few stops and then numerous calls to various Indy stores...nothing! I also noticed at the Hytest store they only had 3 pairs of "stitched sole" boots out of 100+ pairs on display. Maybe I'm old school but I'm kind of partial to stitched. Not sure if that makes much difference in today's technology!?

What did you guys walk in??? Chemical wise I mean. Dirt, grass, gravel drive way. Barely even walked in that. Those soles on those boots looked like brand new a couple days before I took that picture. I could have told you I brought them home from the store that day and you couldn't have known the difference a week before that picture.

I decided to go with a pair of Dickies Brawn boots. I just couldn't bring myself to spend $200+ on a pair of Redwings that I liked. I might opt for a more expensive boot in the future but not having to make this quick of a decision. Interestingly enough, there were only a few boots that felt comfortable immediately. At $75 for the Dickies at WalMart, I figured they were worth a shot! And frankly, I was getting tired of looking!

I did. They KNOW that product was a total loser. They exchanged them with out any receipt from a different product line with out the Durashock soles despite the fact I told them straight out they had sat in the box a long time but only worn for days when they fell apart.

I wear my Rocky boots in the cooler months and my company lets me wear Keen low top composites in the summer. I used too wear red wing but they gave me plantar fasciitis.

When did they start having problems with them? I have a pair here that I bought probably 9-10 years ago because they were heavily discounted due to a store going out of business and I have only worn them for a few days here and there.
