Live from work.... My son just called and said he shot a doe that was dumb enough to come back and smell the arrow he missed her with a few minutes prior. Said he heard her crash around the point of the hill. I told him to stay put for at least 30 minutes, or until his grandpa showed up if he was able to get him to come over.

Busted by a doe while getting settled in 40 minutes ago. She blew, went west, blew, went south, blew went east. About a 15 minute ordeal. I'll deflate her lungs for her if she returns. Bad enough when the blow ya but than hang around for that long.

Quick update.
He didn't wait as long as I told him.
One button buck down.
Only his second deer, first with a bow. Pretty cool.

My morning view. Hardwoods to the south and east. Willows and grass to the west. Standing corn behind me.

Bumped at least one deer walking to my stand yesterday morning from right near the stand, could have shot limits of squirrels and chipmunks.
The afternoon hunt was a different place, pull in and there is a flock of 20+ toms and jakes. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get closer than 60 yds.
an hour before sunset I got busted by a huge doe and fawn when I pushed the safety off. It slipped and clicked. 45 min later they are back and I miss her standing broadside, by a LONG way. Going to find out today if it's the crossbow or if the arrow tipped a branch on it's way to her. I had a squirrel eyeballing me at 4 feet too.....

Sunday morning buck and doe, buck was a decent 8 but to early unless it's a wall hanger. Evening 4 does at 20 yards in the food plot for an hour. To hot to hunt today for me.

Update from last night's hunt..we had a doe come in as close as 30yds for about the last hour of light, just never came quite close enough for Becca to shoot. I've still got a 25yd max for her.. still an exciting hunt and got us both worked up.

I shot a wide 6 yesterday morning about 7:40am, smelled me where I came off the field to the stand and he turned around came in behind me at 15yds and I smoked him at about 12yds. I'm trying to get pictures to load but I'm having trouble.

I got settled in a little while ago. Ate a messy sandwich, dripped sauce on my pants and now have yellow jackets crawling on me. Fun times.
