I get home from work around 4:30 to go out hunting. Of course the rain is moving in. Might still go out if not windy. If your in Allen county the wind is blowing a bunch Isn't any better in Noble either

Showing rain almost outta here on the radar. I'm here in my truck waiting. Still a little windy acts like it wants to lay down. Saw 2 does feeding in a bean field on the way here.

Went to my climber again this morning and got skunked again for the 3rd time on that set. Camera nearby only had 4 photos for the last 6 days. Pulled the climber and the camera and moved to another spot. Going to hunt here at the house tonight hoping for a little action.

The wind may stop ya, don't let the rain, I drove past some deer eating in open grass field 1:30pm pouring rain on bloomfield rd On my way towards 37N and bloomington. They were big ones couldn't see if there were antlers givin the speed and ground lay. Did see big bodies and white tails on my last glance.

Rain has all but quit here. in my stand overlooking my plot. Big scrape on a trail leading into the plot about 60 yards away. That camera caught the big 8. I love for him to come thru this eve and freshen it up.

Got out for another few hours before work this evening. Saw a doe and 2 yearlings right away then about 30min ago I looked behind me and see a pretty nice rack above the grass at 200yds. As I'm waiting for a chance to grab my binoculars I see a doe walk right to left across in front of him and he turned to follow before I got the glass on him. Looked tall, outside the ears. Shortly after I see another following the same path and see it's a 6pt. A few minutes later a deer blows and it turns out to be 2 does on the hillside south of me 50-60yds.
I'd say an exact yardage but just found out my range finder batteries are dead....

From the kitchen. As I was cooking dinner I can see the side and front yard. Two young bucks walked through the yard. No does or shooters.

Well I got skunked this morning that makes two mornings in a row ugggg. Changed cards in a couple of cameras. The "Hot" stand that I thought I was sitting in this morning has turned "Cold". Looks like Mr. Bullwinkle has found somewhere better to be. At least the other camera was showing some (not a lot) of daylight deer movement.
Hide-D-Hoe it's off to work I go for the rest of the week..... Good luck to everyone that's making it out there this week....

Greetings Had an interesting day. Dropped a buck this morning, took it to the chiller got it prepped and booked in then went for a spin round the road system. Came round a corner and spotted something a long way off, put binos up and it was a fox. Jumped out truck, sat in front of it with 308 and long bipod. Had that new pc2 call in my pocket so I gave it a go. Fox turned and came back up the road, just kept coming i had to call stop foxy and I shot him at fifty yards straight on. If he had hermaroids then that rws surely sorted them for him. Lol After lunch I had a daft idea that i would try for a grey squirrel, so off i went rifle in case I seen that buck and the 410. Going along the railway line with thermal imager and I picked heat up a tree. Binos up yes it's a grey. Made a great hundred yard stalk got to around twenty yards pulled trigger on that 410 i have just purchased and click,no bang, so pulled other trigger and blew him off the branch. So that was a good day.lol Either got a weak firing pin spring or a cartridge with a hard primer. Belgian double hammerless. Annoying, try it tomorrow, if there is a problem then see what can be done. Wednesday is doe season. No pictures,no camera with me and i have given up on that photo bucket thing for the time being. Try and get lads to sort it. Regards Billy

Sounds like a fun day Billy!
I sat this evening in a ladder stand in a valley at the house. Had a small 8 grunting and pushing a doe and her two fawns around. Had another solo fawn running silly and bleating lightly, appeared she was looking for momma. Momma kick her out? Finally right at the end of shooting light I had another doe and fawn walk by. Much better sit then the last few.
Have to drop the kiddo off at school tomorrow at 9am then trick o treating in the evening so think I am going to do a 930-whenever sit tomorrow.

Didn't see a thing tonight.
Back at it in the morning. Going to sit the stand that I've been seeing quite of few deer from again. Clear sky's it looks like in the morning. Be nice to see the sun again. Hopefully itll have the deer up and moving as well.

5 minutes after settling into my stand had a doe suddenly appear 10 yards away... caught me by surprise. As I'm watching her i catch a sapling shaking violently about 20 yards away. Then dirt flying .... and a big brown blob through the saplings. The brown blob steps out and turns out to be a 3.5 year old 10 pointer that might go mid 130's. Standing broadside at 20 yards....for 5 minutes.
Picked up the phone instead of my bow to video a little as he walked out to 30 yards and stood while the doe browsed around. After a few minutes she wandered on and he followed.
As the evening went on I had one little buck work his way through and then 6 does but nothing that I was looking for.
Trick or treating tomorrow night with the kids so that wraps up my October...

Just saw my first definite shooter of the year. Looked like a big 10, 140ish. Didn't come any closer than 75-80 yards. Got the blood flowing!

Wind blowing and gusting to 25mph plus in the NW. I decided it wasnt worth being mad, cold, or regretful, so I threw in the towel and stayed home.
