Me and my nephew were out this morning in northern Indiana. -2 with the wind chill. With no action, I only lasted a couple hours. He hasn't got to hunt much this year and has been out all day...lol! He hasn't seen a deer yet I really hope he gets one for his efforts! Good for him!!!

Son and I jumped one walking in and that was all we saw for the evening. It was cold, but always a great time when it’s spent outdoors with my kids.

I made my last sit for the season this evening. I saw no deer, but if I have ever seen a truly "picturesque" evening, this was it! Beautiful snow,no wind, late December evening. Good luck to all of those continuing the hunt.

He hasn't seen a deer yet I really hope he gets one for his efforts! Good for him!!! Your well wishes were a good omen. I got the call at 6 clock tonight that he got it done. He is a senior in high school that has been working a lot of hours at a restaurant to pay the bills. So he has barely hunted with me this year. He told me today was his last chance on a deer so he was going to sit all day. He moved to a couple different stands through out the day to get his blood circulating. He finally settled on a rarely used stand that indicated a lot of activity with a lot of tracks in the snow. With 10 minutes left of legal light, after hunting for almost 11 hours, a 1 spike buck walked by his stand and he made the perfect shot with his bow. By the time I showed up he was froze. I told him to warm up in the truck while I gladly dragged out his deer.

Headed to Ohio county for the day with a buddy.
Will have both gun and bow with me. Loving this snow. Hopefully have something on their feet.
Loaded down with the hot hands, will sit for as long as we can.

I'd really like to get out a couple more times before season's end but it's not looking good. Our weather up here near the lake has been rough the last couple of weeks with lots of snow and single digit to subzero temps.

Never been down to this part of indiana to hunt. Man is it beautiful. My buddy put me in his number 1 stand. He killed a dandy out of here during bow.
I'm in a big valley, bedding up to my right, and best of all standing corn up to my left.
Saw deer cross the road in front of us on the way in, been up 45 minutes or so. Light snow falling, bring on the deer!

It may be me but it has always seemed to me that this time of year that evening sits over or on the path to food plots are the very most productive. Mornings are not only freezing, have never been very productive fir me.

The buddy and I both killed this eve. Last half hour of light.
Couple good size does, made sitting in the cold well worth it. I'll get some pics up tomorrow. I've had enough of the cold today!
More meat in the freezer, love it.
