Well I got the plot worked up and planted this morning. The soil was a little tacky but the tiller handled it. Hopefully that moisture in the soil will help the seeds germinate because as of now I see no rain in this week's forecast.

Planted my yearly microplot yesterday. It was rough. I had the brilliant idea to lug the tiller out there on a cart to break up the soil.
It did a better job than I could have done by hand, but it was way too much work to haul that to the back of my place. All told took me about 4 hours and I'm still whipped today.

Strong line of storms heading this way.

Mine is looking pretty decent. Most spots are up 2 - 3 inches. I put my new $19.97 camera pointed towards the rubbing post.

Gonna check my progress this weekend and maybe sow some wheat or rye to help alleviate some of the pressure.

Guess the clover plot, that I didn't cut and overseed until late, is working. Mom just sent us a cell phone pic with 10 deer in it. My daughter is honked off though because I'm leaving for Wyoming the weekend of youth season. All the deer were 50 yards or less from our blind.
