Heck if you've got 10 does running around your place go for it. At my place I have seen only one doe to the 5 bucks I've seen on trail camera. Want to boost your herd let the does live. Otherwise shoot

No shortage of doe's here. Glassing food sources on our 140 acres I am seeing 40-50 a night and this years fawns are just starting to show up with mother's.

I am with boone on this one. We probably take 5-10 does a year at our place and still see tons of them after the season is over.

Shooting up the does is about the dumbest thing you can do. People will spend hours and hours trying to "farm" their self a deer, buy every thing in walmart, mow down half the forest, buy every new rifle invented and live in their DNR lobbyist office and then shoot up all the does like a green kid about to pee his pants.
You can NOT GET BETTER BUCK BAIT THAN LIVE DOES.

I try to kill 2 does and 1 buck each year. We have an abundance of does in our area.

If you are seeing does in good numbers and your neighbors aren't killing everything that moves, then I see no problem in taking a doe or two.

Biggest issue I see is that numbers were so good for so long that many locals feel it's just a given that they can continue to kill a bunch of does and stock their freezers every year. They gripe about sightings being down, but continue to hammer the does. Only way to stop this is to limit tags. Thankfully, our county has reduced the bonus tags to two now.

Saw 47 anterless this evening and 12 bucks. All on my just my 140 acres of heaven. My 2 neighbors have 450 acres combined and rarely shoot a doe. I have to harvest 10-12 a season and really should have more killed off farm. My buddies love me.

If I was not allowed or willing to shoot does, I simply would not hunt. I have made no secret about being primarily a meat hunter. Now, I don't agree with the bonus antlerless season or allowing more than four bonus tags. That is my opinion and I am not asking anyone to agree with me.

I wish I had the problem of too many deer on my place:) as for restrictions- I think private land owners should have more control of their own deer population and put the restrictions on public land where hunters are less caring about the deer population.

AGREE 100% on public land. Should be a per hunter limit per property on antlerless IMO.

You probably won't seen that in many areas of the state being we went to a reduction mode that seems to have worked! You have what many would call a great problem to have.

The closer to a 1:1 buck to doe ratio you get, the better your rut hunting will be. Let yourself get over run with does and the bucks never have to search. I haven't had that problem since the 90's, but I'm not in the heart of Switzerland, either.

I have a couple small parcels to hunt and I hunt public and believe me I care about deer population on public land. And for the record there already are restrictions on does on public. 2 for archery, 1 for muzzle loader and no bonus on public land.

Some do allow bonus antlerless licenses.
