One of the posts about habitat loss got me thinking. If you could only hunt 1 animal what would you choose? Assume that opportunities are equally good for any of them. I believe I would have to go with pheasant.

Ruffed Grouse, love to hear the drumming in the woods. Good choice - that would be #2 for me.

I would hunt Jon Snow's bi-pedal monstor.. Seriously it would still be deer. Turkeys are OK but I hunt them because nothing else to hunt at that time and I don't fish..

Turkey really was fun, but I guess it's fun to hunt period. I'd have to go with deer. This means that I'd have to let the bipedal monster walk by ...UNLESS I saw him get treehead in a headlock, then I'd be a predator hunter.

Elk, nothing like the silence being broken by a screaming bull while being deep in the mountains on a horse.

Ruffed Grouse. I really miss hunting Morgan-Monroe, Yellowwood, and Hoosier National.....hearing the drumming, experiencing the explosion when they flush. Will probably never see that again in Indiana.
Whitetail deer and pheasant would be tied for 2nd!

If the forests are left alone, it probably wouldn't matter if they attempted a re-introduction. The article that @waynes posted above has some good information. They need thick undergrowth.

If there were no limiting factors I would go for a musk ox hunt. Always thought that would be really neat.
