Good grief Cite the code that says its illegal to trim a branch.... If its illegal, its a code I have, multiple times from multiple different locations on three different devices.

Code only specifies what's illegal. They're no codes on everything legal. So........ One can only prove illegalities. Everything else is legal

Federal Parks, Forests, and Public Property article. Nothing to do with States? Most here are talking about State public land , not Title 36: Federal Parks, Forests, and Public Property. Jefferson Proving Grounds, Camp Auterberry, Crane National Weapons, and the Hoosier National Forest are a list of some of them.
Once again, mixing local, state and Federal regulations. Do you know who overrules? Read the Declaration Independence, Federalist Papers, our Constitution, and case law and then you might be able to answer the question. That's right, 1/2 the population does know these written documents or ignore them. By the way, many, many thousands have been jailed or died for these written documents.
Do you know the 13 colonies meet on July 1st and meet for 12 days with the final signing on Aug 2nd. Do you what document and year? Go google it or the best way, look it up in the books within a library. A lot of time Google is wrong or off base with their beliefs. BookFace is the worst. I think bookface as a better name.
More foods for the fires. Have fun with this post.
WW - you can delete if you want. Just having some fun. Work is slow this week. Not much going on in the iIoT Automation field this Christmas season. Been reading up on these important documents.
Merry Christmas to all the believers and Happy Holiday for the rest.

Then like I also said..... ANY breaking, stepping on breaking branches walking in is also illegal according to this. So back to, hope you don't break any branches s walking in the dark Can't just pick n choose when you want to use this Also better keep those climbers off the trees! They damage the bark

I don't think that I've ever broken a branch on public land, maybe. I just move to another spot with shooting lane.
However, I would not be on the phone calling the CO if I saw a fella clearing a shooting lane.

It seems to me that Title 36, Chapter 2 only pertains to the U.S.F.S., under U.S.D.A. So the HNF of course would fall into this category.
However, Jefferson Proving Grounds is now managed by the U.S. F&W Service, under DOI. Camp Atterbury and Crane are DOD properties.
So this code would not apply at these properties, or state land. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some law floating around out there that does, though.

Thanks for the update. I know some land changed owner in the past. Hard to keep up with the latest. I know overrules is a loaded question. Most of the time it's the local code/regulations/law abides, but lately, in some cases this has been overwritten in some states and or locations. Overreach of governments. There are case laws for all sides of the local/state/Federal issue. I'm not sure on Indiana and or county or city to city or rural to rural regulations.

I would think most reasonable people including law enforcement officers would accept that some limbs are going to be broken or heaven forbid cut by hunters. I should only hope not to run into a law enforcement officer that sees things as black and white as you. I would compare it to driving 60 in a 55, yeah it's technically illegal but most reasonable people/police officers accept the fact that you are exceeding the speed limit and no action is taken. But there is that occasional XXXXX that doesn't but I'll take my chances.

I sometimes leave the local internet world and travel out the public internet world and see non North America information. You can search local internet and then search the other word public internet and receive completely different information. You would not believe how much the data is filter/massaged. Basically, we all connect to the intranet/Internet world through a provider, but there is an upper internet/internet world that must people don't see or have full access to. That information is feed through the providers to a the local intranet/internet users. In fact, there is another network where all the supper computer farms connect. Enough technical information. Now this is way off subject. LOL

Here's an idea: Why do you just ask the property manager of the property you are hunting if you can cut branches off a tree or clear shooting lanes by cutting underbrush?
Different properties might have different rules, and maybe that's why a CO wouldn't have an answer for you on this topic.

I agree and why I'm not concerned with things I've done that some think I should be jailed for. I talk to one of the property managers I hunt on fairly regular through deer season anyways. He's seen some of my setups, never had a complaint about any.
