I'm having trouble getting in touch with the Co's in my area. I've called the law enforcement in my district a handful of times. When they call it's from a private number and they don't leave a msg. I'm pretty sure it's been them calling private but it's when I can't take the call because I'm working or I miss the call. It's pretty important to me that I speak with them as you all know I've reported baiting on public land. Any suggestions on what steps I take next?

My suggestion is you answer the private number. It's been while I've been working or driving or whatever else and can't take the call or I miss it. Otherwise I would answer it.

Their calls generally come up as a private number and their dispatch is the best bet to get a hold of them.

I never did see what property the op was having the issue on, but I know a lot of times there is an officer at the Sugar Ridge Office.

Call the district back and leave a time frame you are available to talk with a C.O. if they have questions for you. Let them know you think you are missing calls and don't want it to look like you are ducking calls.

I already did all of these things. I was told that officers can't call back at specific times, no appointments, nothing of the sort. Quite frankly it's a load of crap that it's been impossible for me to speak with an officer personally. Our tax dollars and license fees and whatever else pays for this system, they are working for us they are our employees !!!!

If you have reported it, locally or through the tip line, then you've done your part. Move on and enjoy your season.

If important and even remotely possible find a way to answer those calls...if not explain in a written email to your district outlining everything very specifically and let them know it is tough to answer during the day (their working hours as well) but you will do your best but if unable to talk you wanted to inform them of the situation.
Outside of that what more do you need to do? Nothing. You did your duty and as a legal law abiding hunter I thank you. No need to get crappy about the CO's...they are working their freaking butts off this time of year and it is only going to get worse for them in the coming weeks.

Contact you regional offices like there stated. All officers numbers are private. If they have called you can't blame them and throw them under a bus as they are likely working several cases.

Theres a reason they won't give you specific times they will call you. Its to keep poachers from being able to pattern their hours and days on duty. They also work a revolving days on/ days off schedule so you don't know when they are on duty. Also, the phone call takes place when they have available time between runs.
At least, that's the way it was when I was in school for it
