I told my son's bus driver that I would try to find a home for this dog so that he doesn't have to be put down. Long story short, he was picked up by animal control in Kentucky and was not claimed. Before he was put down he was rescued by a member of her PAAWS group who didn't realize how hard it was going to be to keep the dog. All I know is that he is a he. He is 4 years old, doesn't have heartworms and may or may not hunt she said he is not aggressive at all and good around the kids. He is free and located in Newburgh, Indiana and if they can not find a home for him he will be returned to animal control and most likely put down. I can give anyone who is interested her contact information if wanted. Thanks.

Well, made contact and the dog has been outdoors it's whole life and never housebroken. Unfortunately with the B&B that's a problem and it is the start of our busy season just to make it worse. Too bad; we would have taken it except for that.

Definitely don't need another dog and dang sure don't need another coon dog. Bluetick I have now had caused me more trouble over the years than I care to mention. As far as finding someone to take it, might try Facebook coon hunters pages. Someone will take it. Beautiful redtick though.

Did you show your wife that poor dog? I bet you drive down to the Ohio this weekend.
One more dog for a big timer like you is like a fisherman's last cast...always squeeze 3 or 4 more in

Fights the mastiff and Bernard. Can't house train him to save my life. Broke the cat door out of the door to get the cat food... but at 5 months old he is already hanging with the big dogs and putting on a show. Now I have to spend all weekend building a kennel for him in the barn. Yeah, thanks but no thanks to another dog. Especially a coon dog. Dont have time for that.

I am NOT a supporter of the humane society at all, but the people at these PAAWS shelter houses are really good people and I do donate food and supplies when I can to my local PAAWS. I really hope this dog get a second chance at life. I could never be the one that puts the needle in when it comes time to put unwanted dogs down. I'M A DOG LOVER.

We've had him a week; going well. He is a very friendly dog That's great news. I would make him earn his keep by making a deer tracker out of him. Being the breed he is I bet he would make a fine deer recovery dog if you can keep him from running coons and keep CORN dogs away from him LOL. Never thought I would say that about a coon dog.
