We've heard 3 birds so far they started about 6:20, off the propert but still could end up our way. JDUB has a bow and a shotgun
We got birds at least 4-5 Toms maybe 150 yds out - can't get them up the hill......got 2 in 80yds now 1 strutting and they are not coming in any closer.....

Maybe get aggressive with a series of cutts and see how they respond?

Have 3 hens running interference on us now, Our best chance is for them to lead them in; 2 of those birds look really nice. They are putting on quite a show, really locked on those hens.

I'm working, but my brother in law set up with my son in a spot the landowner had been see a couple of gobblers. They ended up being roosted about 100 yards away. A couple of hens flew down and came I to the decoys, but the gobblers went to the top of the ridge and are still there.

Just got home from Winamac. Went to our "A" spot and a truck was already there so we went to the "B" spot. As soon as we walked into the field where we had seen 4 birds last Saturday we saw hunters flashing us with a light. So we went in further and got into a marsh. Heard a lot of gobbling and stayed there until daylight. Two flew out of trees at about 100 yards. As usual, for me, as it got light I saw a better spot with better visibility. Couldn't cross a creek to get to it. Back to the truck and went to our "C" spot. Spent several hours there. Nothing seen nor heard. Decided to try the "A" spot in hopes the hunters were gone. As we arrived they were walking out. I asked how they did. The adult said he had called two within 15 yards and that the youth had missed both shots. We felt terrible for her. We ended up scouting this spot and realized how expansive it is. Even if hunters get there before us tomorrow we will hunt there. All in it was a great day on a great property.

Got out on state land to where I heard the birds Friday morning only to see this morning they were roosted on the other side of the cove....after walking WAY around to get to the other side, managed to get the bird withing 60 yards. For some unknown reason he stopped and gave a couple putts and strolled back in the direction he came from.

Got them all around us this morning, including one about 40 behind the blind but he went silent. I'm not experienced enough with turkey to know what to do. Afraid to over call.

This early in the season I don't think you can over call. You are dealing with a lot of hens that haven't nested yet. Clucks and purrs don't hurt much.

They roosted way on down the field last night it seems. They went quiet pretty quickly this morning. Way off the property, not looking to good unless they decide or I can get them back down to our end.

If he answered ONE TIME He Knows where you are He looking Don't say a word Get ready When they go silent after answering Is when I get nervous

My son and brother in law made it back out this morning. Fog everywhere and one bird close. All's quiet now, so they're hoping something happens soon or they are ditching the blind and headed after one.
