sakor...today's shot was still with your .308 but different ammo? I read that right? I think if one does go .243, don't skimp on ammunition. Get a seriously well designed bullet...lot of cheap light poorly designed options out there. Yes still the works tikka but they have moved us onto lead free ammo, i am using sako 168grn stuff. I seen the hair as the bullet struck him and i watched him run i was sure he went down but i was wrong he went a bit further bailey sorted it for me though. went for the annual review today it went ok. I came away with a new thermal imager to try, changed days to when i first started we had second hand gear and russian binoculars, lol, times have certainly changed, i will let you know what this thermal gear is like once i have got used to it. i am really looking forward to tryingit on rabbits and foxes along with the night vision scope i have bought, but that will have to wait until the weekend. Gone high tec here lol regards Billy.

My wife is going to kill me but I think I will buy the .243 barrel for my Encore and if I can swing it I will buy the Ruger Ranch Rifle too. I have no will power at all when it comes to buying guns......

Greetings Go on buy them she can only kill you once, lol Had eight bucks this week, three of them i would not have seen had it not been for the new thermal imager the boss gave me last wednesday, there is no hiding place at all with this thing in fact it is quite frightening thinking how the bad guys could use these things. I am very impressed with it, i picked a man walking from his farm house to his barn in broad daylight at over a mile away. But these things retail for 2.5k pounds sterling, a lot of money.
Last night i got a call from a lady who wants me to shoot rabbits, so off i goes thermal imager , night site the works, she wanted to leave her security light on, goodness knows why but that did not help. I scanned the area with the thermal and seen four rabbits, so i got sat down turned on the yukon night sight and shot two of them. And that was it,it was freezing cold nothing was moving apart from two deer a buck and a doe in her garden, lol
I went out this morning for an experiment,i took the night sight off the picatinny rail put the day site on and checked zero, it was bang on, nothing moved at all. Then i put the night sight back on and moved into 25 yds that is about as far as one can see a mark on paper with it during the day. I wanted to move it back a little on the rail so i did that and re zeroed it three quarters of inch high at 25 yds that give a zero of 72yds, that will do the rimfire i think.
There we go,its all good fun, frustrating at times but still fun, when it stops being fun it becomes work and that is not good, lol Regards Billy.

Picked up my new Ruger on Sat. Very nice and light weight cant wait to get the scope on it and shoot it. Talking to guy and gun counter and he said they are now the number 2 gun seller in US behind Cabelas. Best part is I went to Hickory Hills after and got a full slab of ribs.
