No, but I live in a southern suburb of Indy. I'd say that there are advantages in every direction.
I do like living so close to Menards, but I haven't seen one 4 legged deer there, not one. Well, there was this one lady...LOL
As much as my wife and I like being close to everything, we'd like to be out. The traffic doesn't bother me now that I can go where and when I want. She would like to be closer to her kids in Greencastle. I just want to be out, so I'll go anywhere.
Really, as long as I'm still standing, I'm happy right there.

Based on hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation? Do you live by the land between the lakes or is your house between two ponds?

I live on the SE side of Indy right near I74 and 465. It's a nice quiet neighborhood, near the big events that the city offers, but I74 is my lifeline to God's Country. I can be at my lease in about an hour and my own property in 1.5 hours. If I am forced to live in the city, I couldn't do much better for location to have the best of both worlds.

I like our place in Northern Miami County. We aren't too far from Salomonie and Mississinewa. The past recent years have been eye opening. The reservoirs are so weather dependent, one year the drought ruined fishing. This year it was flooding. In my local spot it is crowded. They ran the Nickel Plate trail through the neighbors land and promised us multiple use, when it opened they banned every thing but nonmotorized bikes and hikers. The farmers have torn out fence rows and now plow fields after harvest. We now haven't seen pheasants or quail on our land for over a year. The rabbits are making a comeback, and we now have Turkeys but it remains to be seen if they can flourish here. We have vacationed in Tennessee now at their state parks the past 2 years and it is rather startling to see such dedication to wildlife. Indiana has a long way to go.

I am hesitant to post a positive review of my location but, since you asked. I live in Parke County Rural Parke county at that if you have ever been to Parke county you know even the towns are pretty rural.
We have hunting opportunities for alot of our states game animals and if I must say so myself Sugar Creek has some of the best fishing in the state and then we have the Wabash river which is by some accounts possibly the most diverse river system this side of the Mississippi. Also whenever there is a claim of a new critter in this state it will most likely include in the Article a sighting in Parke county somewhere. The one thing we lack in my opinion Is upland bird hunting opportunities. But in totality I love where I live and unless there was an opportunity I just couldn't resist financially the only other place in this state I would pack up and move to is southeastern Indiana around Brookville

SE Indiana is hard to beat. I have never hunted Parke County but do enjoy Shades and Turkey Run. Lovely area.

I like southern Indiana. But I also really like the Rocky Mountain states.
I'll probably always stay here and just visit the west as often as possible.

Yes and no. I live on a lake that I can fish any time I like. I have a great view and like the home. I do not have any hunting land I own. I guess if I could buy the farm accross the lake that would make it great. Then the only complaint would be the cold of Jan Feb. I just can not tolerate the cold any more like I used to. I really would like to get a small place in southern Tennessee, northern George, Alabama or Mississippi. That way when i retire I could go down in mid Dec and hunt then come home around mid march

I'm a half hour away from my deer and turkey hunting spot in Northern Warrick county..
I have hunted KY and Illinois in the past and that was about an hour and 15 minutes away..
I like the Newburgh area. 10 minutes from Evansville.
Most of my family lives close, so that is great..

Yep. Live in Lawrence county surrounded on all sides within walking distance if I stretched it of thousands of acres of hnf. Lake Monroe about half hour away. White river 10 minutes. Turkeys gobbling in my back yard. Deer in my running pen. What's not to love.

As far as the location of my house, I like it a lot. Plenty of game, Patoka and hour away, Kentucky Lake an hour and a half.
As far as living in Southern Indiana, I'd pick just about anywhere else in any direction and like it more.

I'm ambivalent. I live in one of the Indianapolis suburbs (Fishers) in a subdivision.
My commute to work is pretty easy, but I've got an HOA to deal with. All the houses look the same and they're building a lot of stuff here in Fishers lately so I get kind of tired of people around all the time.
I'd like to live on my hunting land some day, but will probably have to wait until retirement since my best job prospects will likely always be near Indy.

I was raised in Evansville, and have always hunted and fished. My Dad always took us. I would like to move to around the St. Charles area, good hunting and smallie fishing. but I will never get the chance to move there, so I am stuck here.

Lived in Madison county for 30 yrs.
Mived to western Parke county for 3 yrs.
Now in nw Lawrence county going on my 7th yr.
I found good and bad in all three places but really liked all of them. Now I am settled. If I could move again...Martin Co looks good to me or closer to the ohio river.
I am a Hoosier, no interest in moving unless I could get a job at the vette plant in KY. My grandmother was from the area. Loved visiting as a kid. They had the best home cooking.

I live in Central Kentucky, in Northern Taylor County since July of 2008. My Brother and I bought this property, which already had a home constructed on it, built in 2006. We have around 83 acres in-which to hunt on, by just walking to our woods which is heavy wooded. VERY-VERY-VERY peaceful & quiet with just a few neighbors, and one has a cattle ranch (largest landowner in the area). The former owners were divorced, and had to sell, or face bankruptcy. The small town, Campbellsville, is 15 miles south of our location, with another town, Lebanon being 18 miles east. While they are very clean towns; they are no where close to being like Evansville, which is where we lived for some 35 years. The two towns nearest don't have the services like Evansville offered but that is what you expect when one moves to a more Rural area. We're a bit over 90 miles south from Louisville, 25 miles south of Elizabethtown, and 35 miles southwest of Bardstown. Both My brother and I like it here, but miss many of the services and the many choices of stores, that Evansville offered. SO WE LIKE WHERE WE CURRENTLY LIVE.

Something about global warming testing ground??? I could be wrong though.
