I have seen some 1.5 year old bucks chasing some does. I did see a nice young 10 point cruising right down the middle of a field Sunday morning at 9:30 am. I'm hoping the big guys start cruising Thursday or Friday.

Starting my vacation from Nov. 4-11th but so far I'm not liking the extended forecast. Ugh... Where's the cooler temps at? Darn Elninio, supposedly we're going to have a very mild winter I was hearing the other day!

Let's hope for a warmer winter. The last two in LaPorte Cnty have been more than brutal. The deer will rut and still be there in the 60 deg temps. I have seen several big bucks over the years cruising in the 70's when I didn't even bother hunting, just driving around to see what's happening. The show must go on!

You are exactly right about the rut going on regardless of weather. Studies on fawn conception dates have proven the rut in a given area happens at the same time every year...the problem with unseasonably warm weather during that time is the amount of activity during the daylight is subdued considerably. Im very concerned about the days ahead personally...warm temps & wind all the way through the 10th. They will be rutting without a doubt...I just hope enough of it happens during daylight for me to have an opportunity at a buck. Just checked extended forecast. Didn't look to bad. Friday and Sat look good low's in the 30's high's 50's low 60's. Into next week 40's lows, highs 60's didn't see much to many windy days. Most 6-10 mph days. I can work with that. Showed some low 30's coming by Mid November. That's southern Indiana though.

Chasing has started here. I had 2 year old last night chasing a doe for 20 minutes, & a good friend & neighbor saw 2 shooters chasing a doe in & out of a standing cornfield this morning Trophy Paradise Habitat Consulting "Trophies are built from the ground up" m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=852914431431752

Have yet to see any chasing but did have a nice 3.5 yr. old 10 point (120 class) come cruising by 7:45 this morning. Checked a scrape and wondered off. Also another smaller back came into grunt call. Activity should keep picking up until does come into estrous now.

I saw an absolute MONSTER with a doe yesterday. Inside town! He was bedded down in a small hayfield at the end of a subdivision while the doe was feeding. 50yds from a major road...didn't care one bit about all the cars. Biggest buck ive seen in probably 3 years. 170-175" Trophy Paradise Habitat Consulting "Trophies are built from the ground up" m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=852914431431752

I'll tell ya right now though one thing....if this warm weather pattern stays here till firearm opener...it is gonna sound like 4th of July that day.....
We've got the prime pre-rutting seeking/cycle running happening at one property with some of the bigguns joining in even.
Other place (bout 20 minutes away) things are about a week or two behind it seems....set to break lose just not quite there yet.
