Our group of 6 drew 4 out of 6 region B deer tags and 2 out of 2 area 9 antelope tags. They really cut the number of tags this year. This is the first year out of the last 20 that we did not all draw. I thought that in Wyoming you could put in as a "party" so that either everyone or none were drawn. You are correct, however in a party you all get drawn or nobody gets it. We have been going out there so long that not getting a tag doesn't mean not going. We would go if nobody drew so applying as individuals at least some of us will draw.

Preference points are on sale now on the F&G website. Only $30 for an antelope point.
I got my antelope point, elk point, and a moose point. I'm going to apply for a cow moose tag in a year or 2.

If you guys happen to fill your tags early, I highly recommend taking a ride through the Medicine Bow N.F. just west of you. I was out there last fall, beautiful country, and saw moose nearly everyday from the road.

Watch out for these guys! The one spot I was sitting in, On top of a butte, there were 5 of them I counted in 4 hours of sitting. They don't bother me but some people really get scared of them. They arn't very big in the area I hunted. this one was about 28" long and had 12 rattles. My friend used a 300RUM the year we went and it didn't do as much damage as I thought it would. They were 400 yard shots too.

Well done, definitely will have to give us the full run down when you get a chance. Just bought the first WY Antelope preference point for my son the other day, so this is great motivation!

Well I really can't think of where to begin. It was so much different than deer hunting. The terrain is so wide open...getting close to antelope is a challenge in itself. I watched them from the ridges the first day. They were piling into some irrigated hay fields from all directions in the mornings. Day 2 the rancher was cutting the hay so we hunted public land.....those antelope were really spooky. It was opening week & there were a half dozen trucks driving around which didn't help. The terrain was desert mountains covered in sage & cactus. But a buddy &I got off the beaten path& found a secluded valley with tall grass&a small lake about 4 miles in from the road. Pretty sure no one had been there in a long time...I found a bleached out antelope skull there. There were 55 antelope in the valley, but due to where they were we couldn't get close enough to the biggest buck to get a shot without spooking the herd, so we backed out. Those antelope were less spooky than the ones by the roads. Day 3 I went back to the hayfields & had 4 stalks on good antelope, a couple taking 2 hours each....but didn't close the deal...they are the wariest critters I've ever seen. Day 4 was foggy in the morning...rare for out there...but I took advantage of it to sneak up to a ridge overlooking the hayfields where there was a fence crossing. The rut was in full swing last week. As luck would have it my buck was dogging an estrous doe and pushed her under the fence crossing and came by me without noticing me laying on the ridge. I dropped him at 212yds. everyone else in camp also killed a buck...in fact I was the last one in the group to fill my tag...but mine ended up being the biggest.
