The adrenaline is starting to pump. Opening day is fastly approaching. I've been moving my trail cam's around this last week trying to pattern a couple buck's. Narrowed my opening day stand location to a fence line and gate crossing. On the right is 1/2 acre stand of imperial whitetail clover and on the left side is a 2 acre food plot of field corn. Deer having been using the gate crossing to go back and forth from clover to the corn so I should have plenty of oppurtnuities. Can't wait....

Bow season opener: Friend's property in Brown Co. They've been seeing a good buck and I'm seeing almost nothing but the gals on my place so I'm starting out there. Gun season opener: KY.

Big Oaks... got drawn for opening day of gun season... not sure if I should be happy or concerned... I usually do pretty well on the spot I've hunted for the last 15 years... but, you never know... the good thing is...and there is a good thing... got the green light to come back to Indiiana and hunt from the first of Nov thru the first week of blackpowder in Dec... will hunt in Ripley, Deaborn, Jefferson(Big Oaks), Sullivan and Vigo... possibly Clay... sometimes it is good to be semi-retired holding a lifetime license... I work on a golf course from spring to late fall and then have to find "something" to do... my truck will look like a sporting good store... a couple of rifles, slug guns, a couple of .22's for squirrel hunting and an in-line.... of course, now I'm getting them all ready for the trip... Right now I'm one pretty happy camper...
Good luck to all,
TheMoose

I have a couple of spots in Sullivan County and a spot in Owen County, but I am planning to hunt at my grandma's in Greene County on October 1st. It will be my first time out with a bow and I figured my grandma's would be a good place to go. The trail cam pictures have slowed to a trickle with a few does and a couple of fawns, but I figure a day in the woods will give me an idea how the deer are moving through the area.

At work silently stalking thru paperwork......... When I do make it to the woods on the 2nd weekend of the season I'll probably be in one of my favorite stands. It's the highest spot on the farm where 4 major trails intersect & are engulfed in Multi-Flora Rose, Blackberry, Sassafras, & PawPaw thickets located between 2 stands of mature Red Pine with multiple mature White Oaks within bow range. I really like this stand because the wind can blow from any direction & not give me up.

I'll be working the first 4 days but got a week off starting the 5th. I'll be doing something I've never done before, bow hunting public ground. Done a lot of public ground scouting and camera hanging the last month or so and have 1 spot in mind that I can't wait to hunt. Got a stand hung in the 2 weeks ago so as long as its still there it should be productive.
Also plan on taking a ground blind in there for the youth opener.

I won't get to hunt opening morning. I hate that the first falls on a Monday. That means I probably won't get to hunt until 6 days into the season. Bummer.

I have a nice spot in a cottonwood about 15 feet up that I am planning for opening morning. 3 trails pass by it so I'm hopeful. Youth I will be on the ground with the youngest in a blind or with oldest in a treestand(depends on who teams up with dad). The does have been moving well the past week, not a buck in sight and no rubs/scrapes but they are out there I'm sure. Weather has been perfect, acorns still dropping :-)

Hoping for NW wind, if that happens then you can count on me being on a hill side watching over some white oaks in Gibson Co.

I'll be on my brother's farm. Sitting on a tree stand located at a pinch point between bedding and feeding areas. The camera hasn't indicated a ton of buck activity, but I'm more than happy to knock down a doe or two. They all look the same on the grill!

A great 80 acres in miami county. Got permission a couple of years ago. They had bought the propert from an elderly woman that did not allow any hunting. Needless to say very great peice. Only issues are with the non and I do mean non-hunting woman that lives across the road. But wont know what stand until I get there. No matter where I hunt it will be a glorious day.
