Greeting to all from Jasper county! shot a nice 8 pt this morning. arrow had complete pass thru but unfortunatley the deer ran with its tail tucked and his back hunched. not a good sign. cave him a few hrs before i began to trail him. jumped him twice and called it quits for the remainder of the day. he bedded down several times and i never ran out of blood. before i jumped him the second time he appeared to be dragging his feet in the snow. never had to wait this long to finish a track and i'm not feeling too optimistic. any comments will be welcomed.

Best to wait till the AM, with the way he was doing just best to let him die in his bed before you chase him all over.

The hunched up back indicates a gut shot. Depending on the angle of the deer you could very have got the liver too. Both are deadly on a deer. Just might take awhile.
If he is bedding that many timee in a fairly short distance he is hurting bad. With the tracking snow you should be able to recover him in the morning.
Let us know how you make out and good luck..

Good luck. I think you'll find him. You definitely did the right thing by backing out and the snow will help a TON. Keep us updated.

;DWHOO HOO! My nerves got the best of me last night while i was at work and me a couple of friends picked up where we last saw him. We found him, still warm but dead, 250 yards or so from the last place i seen him! A ten foot man couldn't have knocked the smile off my face with a 2x4! He was a 10 point but has one busted tine. If i can figure out how to post a pick on here i will. Thanks for all the responses and VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
