Congrats on a great deer and also a lesson learned on fallowing up a boarder line or poor hit requires the hunter to have the nerve to instead of taking up the trail too soon to just walk away and come back later. You did well recovering that deer.

late season bow kill on a Dandy buck.........congrats........
would you mind sharing the shot placement? How far did the buck go all together from shot site? What broadhead? How much time went from shot to recovery? that will be good info if anyone else finds themselves in that position!!!

To all who responded, I appreciate the kind words! Thanks alot! To "dawnpatrol, the shot placement was low and a little far back, i got out of my stand and recovered my arrow 30 minutes after the shot which was a at 0720 a.m. I started to track him at 1030 but backed out at 1200 when i jumped him. I didn't pick up the blood trail again until 1115 in the evening after i got off work and had my hands on him at 1140. I used a G5 montec 3 blade 100 grain broadhead. Total distance traveled was 3/4 mile.
