I can't remember the exact number of years. 12 or 13 maybe. Maybe 14 this spring.
I've killed at least 12 long beards. I'll have to count when I get home. All in Steuben County, all with gun.
I've killed one bearded hen in the Florida Everglades with a gun. Last hour of the last day of the hunt, public land, non-guided, she was legal ... BOOM!
I've killed one fall hen with my bow in Steuben County.

3 years, got my first gobbler last spring, Elkhart county.
This will only be the 5th year for turkey allowed in my county. And this past fall, it made the "allowed" list. GREAT news to hear the turkey numbers are on the rise in my neck of the woods.

This will be my sixth season. Taken 4 birds. Two in Indiana and the other two were taken in Kentucky. For the last four years I have rotated birds within these two states. 06-kentucky, 05-Indiana, 04-Kentucky, 03- Indiana. Probably will take a bird in Indiana based on the figures. However, I won't miss Kentucky season this year.

Hunted off and on (probably more off than on...) for 10-11 years now. Killed my first (and only- to date) tom last spring- 24 lbs, 22 mm (I think) spurs, 9 1/4" beard. Taken in Montgomery County. Looking for a new place to hunt 'em, I changed jobs and probably lost the woods I hunted last spring.

I've never counted them , so I'm guessing....
1 in Missouri
2 in Kentucky
6 or 7 in Indiana
Give me 9 or 10..
Woodmaster is the true turkey hunter in this family.

The best I can remember is about 14 or so.
Started back when they were first huntable in Indiana. It has been off and on hunting them since. Mostly off. In the last 5 or 6 years I've gotten more serious as there is a much bigger huntable number.
They are fun to hunt, but I prefer deer.

I have been at it 9 years or so.Never got one, but have come close several times until somebody else in the woods messed it up.Too many people in the HNF for me..Almost sold eveything I had until I talked to my old history teacher(happens to be my girlfriends landlord too) and he convinced me too hold on to my stuff and he would take me out this spring to his hot spot.He pretty much guaranteed a shot at one anyway..does anyone on here do any turkey guiding?
