Weather-wise yesterday wasn't good, but my all-time worst opening day weather has got to be a year or two when it hit nearly 70 degrees and sunny. Wind and rain don't spoil deer meat!

Day #2 in NE Howard County wind was unbearable by 11:00am & with no deer spotted and 0 shots heard,we called it a day.If the wind dies down I will go back for an evening sit.My personal worst opening weekend EVER! I have hunted in worse but seeing zero deer has made it official.
On a different note: Make sure you take a minute to clean that firearm, especially if you hunted in the rain yesterday.

It's good that the water wasn't deep because I never learned how to swim! In all seriousness though, I always enjoy getting out in the woods for awhile. And, the bad days just increase the enjoyment level of the good ones. parson

My boy and I hunted all day Sat., and most of the day today. We each took a buck and a doe yesterday, and he got another doe this A.M. We are gonna hunt Monday, then he has to go back to work. Together we must have seen close to 20 different bucks, the last 2 days. I saw at least 25 deer today, until about 3 pm., then everything seemed to just shut down.
