I will be out there but still with the bow. Just got in and they are finally turning on here. Saw four different bucks and had a non shooter 7 pointer and doe bedded down less than 100 yards when I came down. Most action I have had all season.

I gotta work all weekend. Would definitely trade my climate controlled factory for a wind blown treestand.

In times like this, you have to man up and grit it out! please don't leave us to believe that you will be one of the orange army or weekend warrior that lets the weather determine your desires.

If it's going to windy & cold, then you'll need to hunt the low lying areas, as that is where the Deer will be.

Me too but I had forgot about it. Haven't used it for several years. Looks like I better dig it out.

Does that hold up to 40 mph wind gusts? Dunno.....Never hunted deer in that kind of wind. You screw/tie thuis into the tree. We are ONLY getting 18 to 20 mph winds down here.

Not parson....BUT, he could be like me and just pick and choose what day(s) to hunt - I'm retired, not sure about him. If this wasn't the opener I'd sit it out too.

I'm thinking I'm going to pass on Saturday. I've lost 3 deer over the years, and do not want to put myself in a situation that may increase that tally. Rain is supposed to stop on Sunday, so I'll be out then. If the rain looks like it's going to stop at anytime tomorrow, I'll go out.

I'll sleep in tomorrow, go to the Colts game Sunday and start my hunt on Monday. Retirement is great. Wish I had thought of this before.
