Awesome-sounds promising, like the kooks who were trying to skew the facts of the proposal haven`t gotten it done.

The shop owner at Morton had the "proposal" tacked up on the board when I was there today- he made it sound like it was law... Tried to tell them that it wasn't a "done deal" just yet, but who knows how many people have seen it and think carbines will be legal this fall for sure....
When will we know for sure?

When will we know for sure? May 22nd.It is done enough I would have no qualms about buying a PCR. In fact I've already made that crossbow for Ruger .44 magnum carbine trade in anticipation. That was before they posted this.

I was pretty sure that it was as close to a "done deal" as it could be, but at least now I know I was right about what I told them this morning. Got a link to the expected announcement date? The shop owner said the website was saying what he had posted was going to be legal, but I'm thinking he mis-read it...

There would have to be some pretty amazing and compelling reasons for the NRC to reject the Recommendation as written. ...

I was under the impression that the paperwork was submitted on April 4, and would become permanent 30 days after that date. If that's true, it became law on May 4.
The whole thing with the May 22 meeting has me confused. Perhaps that is the date they plan to announce the proposal's acceptance. Who knows?
Gun shops in my area have already been selling rifles in anticipation of this rule for some time now.

I think that the reality is,
If it ain't in the Reg Book when published May 2X it ain't legal.
I expect it will be correct, but I have learned to verify first, trst later.

Luckily, the rifle I have my eye on hasn't been sold yet. I hope it stays around for 2 or 3 more weeks.

I'm still looking at a Puma in .44. Strictly Shooting in Evansvile has a few on hand. The Ruger will be my go to deer hutning gun, but a lever would be fun to play with - and maybe pop a doe or two with.
