The wife & I came home from the church office about 2:30 today to find a garage entry door open, and a pillaged house! Not good for internal tranquility!
Three hanguns, some jewelry, a little cash, and a few odds & ends gone!
Y'all can't do a lot, but I needed to vent. parson

Get those Serial Numbers out to the ISP with a quickness.
FWIW, your trials are the reason the only un-secured firearm in my house is the one attached to my body.

Oh my goodness...
That has to be a terrible feeling to have your home violated like that.
OIS is right about the serial numbers.
The perps that did this need a few prayers - trading their souls for such a small ill gotten gain....

Sorry to hear that parson. I know the feeling of being ripped off. Several years ago thieves broke into where i worked and stole my tool box and all my tools, over $10,000.00 worth of SnapOn and Craftsman. I had my name and SS# on every wrench and tool in that box and to this day I've never got one back. Hopefully the police will find the low-life's and you get you guns back. h.h.

Wow, that is terrible! My uncle got robbed a long time ago. They stole his whole 20+ gun collection, and somehow a water bottle full of quarters. I think it was his rebel son, or one of his friends. They had to of brought a hand cart with them to take those quarters. I hope you take a good look at your home security Parson.

I had these firearms locked up in a safe. They somehow bent up one corner of the door and worked the contents out. Didn't take any long guns, only handguns. The serial numbers are in a safe deposit box. Can't get them until Monday. And, we actually did pray for these guys. We have a Friday night prayer & outreach meeting at the church I pastor.
I've learned that things are temporal. You hold them loosely and try to use them wisely, but it takes a little while to process the sense of violation when something like this happens.

Take comfort that the cowardly selfish individual who committed this act will have to answer for this sin in front of the good Lord someday. Thank God that you and your wife are safe, and that you were not around to be attacked by this criminal. Everyone else is right about the serial numbers for the handguns--hopefully you were able to get in touch with your local law enforcement too so that they could document it in case this perp foolishly decides to do it again, which is probably likely. Best of luck in resolving this as much as is possible!

Wow! Sorry to hear that. It's hard to imagine they would do that in the middle of the day, but then again they must have known you wouldn't be home. Any neighbors close by that may have seen something? Sure hope they catch the thieves and you get your things back.
You may want to keep your eye on the pawn shops in the area.

Parson - sorry to hear about all this, but sounds like it could have been worse relative to the long guns... thought I'd let you know that the Fender is doing well in its new home and has gotten a workout the past couple of weeks... hope your acoustic was still there and intact...

Sorry to hear about such misfortune. You know that this had to be someone who knew your routine and that you would be gone at that time and for how long. Start out looking close to home. Had my garage broken into once and all of my fishing gear stolen. Couple of those rods and reels were so new that they had not even been used once. If you can pray for them you are more forgiving than I am. This would be some time for a little biblical type justice. Let's see cut off their thumbs and first fingers on each hand.

You are taking this pretty good, Parson. I agree that it must have been someone who knew your routine. "Here is a guy who serves the Lord; let us rob his house while he is gone. " Too bad people got to be that way. Maybe some day you will see them in a pew and not even realize it. For that we all should pray.

I appreciate all the comments. I hope to use this as a time get the neighbors together. We have very few problems in our community but we hardly know each other. Perhaps I can cook up some hot dogs and see some relationships develop that will enable us to be our "brother's keeper" so to speak. It seems these guys went to three houses. An elderly neighbor saw them, thought they were solicitors of some kind. As far as our routine, the wife is typically home through the day. I believe, along with the officer that responded, this was random. Between this and the claim for hail damage last spring, I don't look forward to calling the insurance agent Monday. parson
