5% glyphosate is supposed to kill this stuff. Anyone watch it featured on Grant Woods Growing Deer?

Wind flattened the middle of a strip of Egyptian wheat down to about 4 feet. Looks like it will still provide good screening. Some say it sometimes it grows back straight.

I’d like a 140-150” spike deer but big typical 8’s are pretty much ideal to me That would be hard to put above the fireplace

150yo Burr oak at work is drawing some attention. Looks like an average mast year for it.

Just happened by a QDMA sign on the way home from trout fishing in Brookville and stayed for the event. Just got back home. 👍to Tom James and the rest of the presenters!

no opinion of the gun but it looks like it uses Pro-Bore choke tubes as opposed to the common Rem choke tubes

Anyone willing to share any Indiana secrets for my first summer squirrel season? I'm in Indy, but hunted atterbury with some success late last fall. Drive a little further south and try Yellow Wood and Morgan Monroe. Sometimes remote chunks of the forest are better.

I was thinking about using my Mossberg 500 with a twenty inch smooth bore barrel and a red dot scope for deer since I already have them. I was wondering if anybody else has or was useing something similar and what were your experiences or opinions. I am hoping for since I have not patterned any foster slugs with this combination yet for better than pie plate accuracy at around 75 yards. My experience with Winchester foster slugs and a smooth bore has been good groups at 60 yards. Much further began to open up. Groups were about 12" at 100yds. Nothing I've used has better terminal performance than a one ounce chunk a lead .63 in hole in the vitals. My taxidermist uses them in a rifled barrel. Says he doesn't plan on shooting it enough to damage it. My experience with a red dot is with an ar and crossbow.

Wife took this picture this morning. It must be the 8pointer my neighbor has been talking about. Neck goes down close to brisket. Looks like a 3.5 yr old. Maybe next year and differently the year after if around. Looks like the same gene pool as my past buck. Looks well fed!

Just found out a full moon in July is referred to as the buck moon due to antlers being in full growth mode. I've been hunting deer for a long time and find it strange this reference has escaped me.

Whether in my climber or my hang on treestand I have found my ideal height is about 10-12ft. Any higher and I get way too nervous and could cause injury to myself. I always wear my harness and have a lifeline attached and have found that height to be more than enough for successful hunting. What do you guys prefer? On flat land I prefer about 20 feet. Too low and you may be seen or smelled. Too high causes challenging shot angles.

I think nfalls116 is on the right track. I'll guess a .450 Bushmaster AR along with the .300 pistol and rifle. Very close!
