Thanks guys. This car has 248,000 miles. We just paid $1700 for repairs after the ball joint failed and the wheel basically fell off. We are trying to make it last at least until summer. I'm trying to find a low cost set of used tires to keep it on the road.

I've got a question for you mechanical minded guys. I'm looking at these 2 tire sizes for my work car. Top number is stock. Would that be enough of a difference to matter much?

Have you considered looking into an enclosed trailer and converting it into a camper? I've seen some really nice ones. One was done in a 50's diner theme. From what I've seen, most people don't use all the appliances and options in a camper. If you build one you can customize it to fit your needs.

When working for INDOT I saw many wrecked on the highway. I always said the main thing holding them together is gravity. Turn one over and they explode. A lot of staples and glue. I believe I have 13 lbs of screws holding my home made camper together. It's pretty solid.

The Cobra line from Harbor Freight work just fine. Ours are hard wired so I do not know about their cordless ones. The hard drive, using 5 cameras, holds about a week and a half of video before it automatically overwrites itself. I could make a hard wired system work. Thanks

Do you guys have any recommendations for a lower cost security camera system? We have talked about getting something for the house. We were thinking 2 or 3 cameras. We have wifi in the house that reaches to the garage.

14 degrees here this afternoon. I'm outside soaking in 100 degree water. The naked dash back to the house should be interesting.

When I say I need waterproof gloves, they better be 100% waterproof. I'm working with not so clean water out in the field with no way to wash my hands.

I've never had a meeting like that. I'm glad I get to work alone all day.

Hey scrub, Ever since you started this thread I keep coming up with some long lost or forgotten knives! I was cleaning out an old dresser drawer and lo and behold, I found the old knife I was gifted for being the Royal Rangers Commander back in the early 1980's! Those were busy days with my oldest boy as I was also his Cubmaster! I'm glad you found it! I've got a couple I need to find. When I got remarried my junk drawers got consolidated and eliminated. Now I can't find anything.

I changed the water today. This is the second time doing that. It's still pulling out a lot of grease from the bone. You can see globs of it floating on the surface. The skulls are looking good. I should have got a picture of them. I switched to dawn soap this time. I'll see how it does compared to the Ammonia.

Is this cheaper than cooking? Just wondering because this sounds like an interesting method. It depends on what you have to buy for a cooking set up. Now that I have everything my only costs will be electricity.

I bet that smells fabulous. Yea I hope that isn't indoors. My maceration set up is outside at our barn. It's far away from any houses. My degreasing set up is in the garage and doesn't smell.

Forecast said we would get 1-3" of snow by noon today. I ordered a snow tube for the kids and gassed up the UTV to pull them through the fields. All we got was light rain.

I bet that smells fabulous. The maceration process does create a unique odor. It didn't bother me though. I've worked at a sewer plant for over 20 years. I can handle just about any smell.

It will take several weeks of degreasing to get them ready for whitening.

Looks good but I wouldn't hardly call that zero effort. Quite a bit of effort went into getting set up and coming up with the components to do that, plus figuring it out. The cost was around $50 for the supplies. There shouldn't be any more costs besides electricity, bromelain capsules, and bulbs if they burn out. The work involved wasn't much, bringing home free chest freezers, drilling a few holes and mounting the light fixtures. Going forward the only work will be moving a few buckets of water each year. When I was cooking skulls I'd have to watch them close to make sure the temperature was just below a boil, dip out oil from the water, pressure wash the skulls, and then hand clean the meat off of them. It was pretty time consuming. And a decent amount of work. The older I get the more I realize the value of my time.
