Deer love them. Bed in them and eat them as well.

Found a spider in the blind today….Not sure the type! Hopefully it’s now the extra dead type. Either that or burn the whole blind to the ground 🤔

Left the hens to strut 200 yards further away. Hens just milling around.

Could care less about the decoys or calls. Slowly walking away.

The owners live at the north end of Scales Road up by the interstate. Yeah, they let them run except during deer season when they put them up. Maybe it's time to start trapping coyotes. Tell the owners that you are trapping and see what happens. I know if I catch a collared coyote it's a trophy!! Best advice I ever got. Worked for me! 😁

Well, everything worked off so I made my way out of there. Probably won’t get out for the rest of the weekend due to a softball tournament. Good luck and congrats to everybody that has been successful. Where is the softball tournament? Supposed to be in Portage. Of course they let us get all the way there before canceling for today due to the ongoing rain. Ugh…. Returning tomorrow and Sunday. Will leave early for a daddy daughter dance tomorrow evening.

Just had a coyote go in and attack the flock. Hens are on the ground but the Tom went up into a tree. Would’ve changed to coyote season quickly if he came this way.

Well I hate to be right. This time anyway. 5 hens and a Tom 250 yards further down the field and working away from me 🤦🏻♂️

Setup and ready to go. Moved the blind yesterday so they’ll probably do everything opposite today 😁🤦🏻♂️

Snuck in on where the birds have been roosting a little bit closer this morning. This is a pretty good size group of birds and it seems like they don’t want anything to do with the decoys. After they moved off, I went back a couple hours later, and moved the blind right in close on them. Unfortunately, when I got back, there was at least one Tom and two hens right where I was putting the blind. Hopefully nudging them off with the truck won’t affect them too much. I

It clicked but not a scratch on the primer. Is it a Benelli? A Mossberg semi auto 28gauge. Pistol grip turkey gun. I had to buy chokes so she could dove hunt with it. No issues then. I’m taking it to the range tomorrow to investigate.

It clicked but not a scratch on the primer. You don't by chance have a saddle mount with a scope on do you? Negative. Going to try and take some shots shortly. Maybe the slide wasn’t all the way forward but I sure was trying like heck to make it happen.

Well, I made my way out of there and back to the house. Luckily, I have another gun and three shells for it waiting here. The turkeys have been consistent on the far side of the field where I’m at, so I will probably hold off until tomorrow morning.

I have five Tom’s and five hens at the end of the field. Sitting here with a gun that probably won’t go off. Not sure if they’re far away enough to just get out of here and go figure it out.
