Can you believe this? Judge forces state to pay for an anti-hunter's suitState (AK) ordered to pay $95,000 to Anti Group Anchorage, Alaska - Aerial wolf hunting is back in the courts. The state has been ordered to pay attorney fees to an animal rights group over a lawsuit that briefly stopped the program last winter. Anchorage Superior Court Judge Sharon Gleason put aerial wolf hunting on hold for 10 days. Now she's ruled the state must pay $95,000 in attorney fees to animal rights group Friends of Animals. Officials with the Department of Law say the group was entitled to reimbursement because it had no financial incentives in filing the suit. Friends of Animals filed the suit in 2003 to stop aerial wolf hunting. It was reinstated after the Board of Game adopted emergency regulations to conform the program to state law. In the past four years, more than 550 Alaska wolves have been killed. The state says it was to increase the number of moose and caribou for rural hunters. www.ktuu.com/Global/story.asp?S=5986391

I'm sorry for this statement, but some women should think more with their head instead of their heart. I've seen some pretty silly judgements come from male judges too..

I'm sorry for this statement, but some women should think more with their head instead of their heart. More women and men should think with their head (or to a greater extent with their head) instead of their heart...in my life I am surrounded by 100% "heart-thinking" people who mean well but sometimes don't come to the best conclusion or make the best decision as a result...just my observation. Regarding this story, I don't understand why the state should have to pay the anti group, since it was the anti group that decided to file suit in the first place. When you decide to file suit, you are liable for charges and fees resulting from that decision--it's that simple! It comes down to the issue of personal responsibility that our (mostly liberal) society oftentimes completely neglects. Why should taxpayers have to pay a group they probably don't even agree with for a decision that the group made and refuses to be responsible for? Pretty unfair, if you ask me...
