If you could vote for president right now and given the front runners in the media Obama, Hillery, Gulioni, those are the only ones I can remember right now, out of all the lead guys and ladies who would you cast your vote for? I'm not a republican or a democrat I just want to see what you guys think.

I know all candidates are suspect to being untrustworthey and scandals and so forth but come on just play along if you don't vote you can't B#%$&! You know what I mean. We'll add another aspect, if Bush could stay for another term you can pick him too. I'm just trying to see who is best for the sportsman. I don't like these people any more than you guys but I gotta choose one, at least the lessor of the evils.

All I know is that Evan Bayh should've never taken his name from consideration. In all seriousness, based upon our election history, running against a female and a minority leaves a lot of opportunity. Especially since Obama and Hillary are going to be splitting votes. A fresh democratic face with a clean, solid background looks like the way to go right now, and being a white male might close the deal. Either way, I don't see how the Republicans can lose this one given their potential opposition. Guiliani's past isn't going to survive the scrutiny of a presidential election, so McCain ought to have an easy time getting the Republican nod. John McCain has distanced himself from G.W. enough to avoid some of the Bush term backlash. McCain vs. Bayh would be a very interesting contest, but anyone else from the democrats will likely get dusted.

After the deadline for entering is the time for this discussion.

If those were my only choices I would not vote for any of them, they are all totally unacceptable. I agree we should wait and see what falls out. It is too early yet.

I enjoy playing along with these posts ahawkeye, but there is not a viable candidate listed that I would vote for.

Woody beat me to it , I often joke that in the next campaign for any office seeking my vote that I'll simply write in "None of the above ." since there really are no worthy candidates out there . However , with the choices given I will still say NOTA and vote for either a Libertarian or Constitutional party candidate , neither of the major parties seems able to field a candidate that I would vote for .

None of those. Thank you. Obama- Does not really say anything. Says we need or platitudes. Hillory- Well she is actaully what I would call sociallistic (if there is such a word if not I guess you know what I mean, maybe), and an anti. Gulioni (sp) only thing I know about him is he is from New York. Hmm isn't that a firearms restrictive state? I believe so. Publicans- ? Are they dumb enough to run Bush from Fla? Maybe.

Well I got a few answers that looked like you were serious, I'll say it agian I don't like these jokers any more than you guys but I feel if you don't vote you're just not taking advantage of what so many men and women sacrificed for. I just wish there was a guy with enough political savy and down home comon sence for us to vote for. I'm not saying that being the president is an easy job but I really wish there was a clear cut favorite for the "hard working American" who's not going to be led astray by their parties agenda or some lobbiest's money. All in all I'm just looking for some direction, maybe I'll find it later when we get closer but more and more I find my self looking for the better of two evils not the best person for the job. JMHO

McCain, from what I've read of the current bunch of choices. I've seen a few mentioned that I haven't looked into yet.
With the fantasy option of retaining GW, I'd probably go that way.
Most of the others are cut-and-run types who just pander to those who see war as an ugly option. Unfortunately, it's sometimes an ugly necessity. I'd rather have a leader with the wisdom to recognize that fact and the courage to stand by his decision to engage in one, regardless of public opinion polls or liberal news reporters.
As to the one who would be best for sportsmen, still probably the same choices, although there might be other Republicans who could give them a good chase. Don't see it being Kerry, crawling around on his belly with his trusty double-barrel, and I suspect that John Edwards would rather do something that wouldn't mess up his hair the way a hunting hat would.
When it gets down to the fall election, unless the Dem is really scary or the Rep is my first choice at that time, I'll probably vote Libertarian again, just to help keep hope alive for an eventual better choice. If the news is calling it a close race here in IN, I might choose between the weevils.

Wait until the New Hampshire Primaries and we see who drops out. There is something that should be changed. On National offices all State Primary Election should be on the same day. It may not change of gets the nod, but It will give every voter in every State the opportunity to have an equal say.
