That buck is nice except for that left side. He seemed pretty fearless. I would say he is a bird feeder buck.

That buck seemed pretty fearless of the dogs and the guy running the camera! Your'e a pro cameraman.. It appears to me that he was back aways and had the non-stabiized camera on maybe 10X zoom. What do you think.. .

I'm not a fan of image stabilization on the consumer cameras, whenever you intentionally try to pan or tilt the stabilizer tries to "stop" the movement and then it realizes what you are doing and it jolts as it catches up to where you are at in your movement. He definately does NOT have a stabilizer on. I'll take my 35lb BetacamSP broadcast camera any day over a tiny mini-DV or similar camera. The low weight just makes it impossible to get a steady image if you are shooting off the tripod.
I don't think he's using a 10x extender......I think he is really THAT close to the deer. When he moves to the right you can see the tree limbs in the foreground are very close to his lens as he moves past them. I'd say he's less than 20 yards or so from that buck when it's across that ditch, and less once the buck crosses. The photog is lucky the deer didn't charge him IMO. I've got some great video of deer in Eagle Creek Park in Indy where I walked within 10 yards of them with the camera rolling, but the deer out there are nearly tame.....and I'd never try it with a buck...no matter how tame I thought it might be.
