I remember years ago my dad put some of those whistles on the "family truckster". It wasn't 2 days later he drilled a doe and the impact was so hard both whistles were nowhere to be found.
Needless to say he doesn't think they work! ;D

My old boss swears by them! He has seen numerous deer turn away as he drove by. Of course it could have been pure coincidence too! I've never put much faith in them.

A former high school classmate of mine got a new Lincoln Town Car a couple of years back and put a whistle on it... three days later, he collected a deer south of Kokomo on US 31... he called the whistle company about some guarantee claim and $500 insurance deal they had on the package... company reply was, well that's only if you have two of them installed and mounted 16-24" apart...
Got the car fixed, got two whistles of the same type mounted according to the prior instructions...
Two days later he hit a doe in virtually the same spot on 31...
So much for whistles....

I wonder if anyone has tested "boom boxes" that can typically be heard from 3 blocks away?

It is a fact that deer will NOT come into contact with any vehicle that has at least one hunting sticker, one rust hole and/or a previous dent!
