hey guys i need your help. my stepdad is wanting a good knife sharpening stone for christmas. anybody got any good recomendations . i looked in the bass pro catalog and was kinda wondering about the chefs choice electric sharpener . anyone ever used those ? are they worth the money ? or should a person just stick with a good stone? any info will be appreciated . thanks

I prefer butchers ceramic & butchers steel over the electric sharpeners. Drop dabutcher a line.

Electric sharpeners can quickly draw the temper from a blade if not used carefully , I'd set him up with a Lansky style sharpener .

You can't go wrong with a couple of good stones and some oil if you want really sharp knives.
