That sounds like a very nice buck. I would probably debate with myself a little about it, but in the end like 90% of other hunters I would take it.

Does anyone have a "sliding trophy scale" ? IOW - the later on in the season the less choosy they get? . It kind of worked out that way for me last year. This year I plan on having a reverse sliding scale, I will be willing to take a smaller buck in archery season than I would during firearms or muzzleloader.

Sounds like he got what I would be waiting for, a deer.About the only thing I ever pass on are yearlings,and I've even been know to take a few of them .

If it was truly a buck he wanted then take him. If he isn't into banging does and wants to experience of being out there then he could still sit in a tree with a camera.
Two of the best experiences I've had hunting was filming a buddy. One night we saw 10 bucks (6 mature). The other time I filmed an old albino buck ( in Illinois....not legal).
