Maybe that is it. I guess there are no PCs in Virginia? I'm sure he will have some tales to tell when he gets back.. .

Yeah, if I am remembering right, I think he sent me a pm before he left saying he would be gone about a month. Yes I'm sure he will have stories, how true, we can't really be sure. ;d

Can imagine how long he'll be on this site when he gets back? I'd bet that he's going through some serious withdrawls right about now!

WHAMO!!!!!!!!! I'm back. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Rough month boys. Short caption. Week #1 - Heavy winds down here trashed my 2 primary tree stands on seperate ridges, compliments of one big poplar & one big sycamore. Have to wait until gun season is out to get in there with the ATV & chain saw for clean-up & salvage. Still seeing small racked bucks & does in secondary set-up. Took a fat doe with my faithful Oneida. High lung shot with 200 yards of tracking. Week #2 - Still seeing small bucks & does along with coyotes, fox, turkeys, racoons, hawks, owls, & Pileated woodpeckers. Wife lost her job due to corporate consolidation & the moving of her office to another city. Week #3 - Still seeing small deer & all of the local critters. Took a big doe with the ole 20 ga. Left for Virginia to be with daughter following surgery. The 2 nodes & tumors of the 5 that had the surgeon concerned were successfully removed & turned out to be non-cancerous after the biopsy. What a relief! Daughter is doing fine with wife at her side. I purchase a 3-day non-resident deer license, only to be sidelined on high ground by 3 solid days of rain, flooding, & high winds (Noreasterner). Everything was underwater. Bummer! Went bird hunting the day before we left on some higher ground, as the sun finally made an appearance. Great handler & a great english setter named Missy made for a fine day of action & fun. There were 3 of us, and we took 51 birds (Pheasant, Chukar, & Quail). Granted they were pen raised, but I got to enjoy a beautiful day of hunting with the son-in-law. Birds are in the freezer for a future feast. Week #4 - Back from Virginia. I run into the farmer where I hunt. He starts talking about all of the deer they found dead in October while harvesting crops. After a few questions I find out the sad truth. All of the deer were found within a 20 yard radius of the watering hole where I hunt. The big 8 pointer & 10 pointer I was after, dead. 4 does dead. No wounds, or vehicle collision damage. Blue tongue? ?? To make matters worse, he found 2 big bodied bucks in another field that had been shot, and only the antlers sawed off. My quess is one of them was the big 12 pointer I had seen in that field in September. Sickning! Fell & reinjured my back. Down a couple of days. Got to feeling better & got food poisioning. Down a couple more days. Made a 2 hour stalk on a nice 6 pointer on saturday afternoon, only to have the wind shift with 20 more yards to go to get a clear 50 yard shot. I hate it when that happens. That was'nt tooooo long lug. LOL!!!!

Thats a lot of ups and downs in a month's time. When it rains it pours I guess, especially in Virginia. The most important thing is that your daughter is healthy. Welcome back.

When I take off for deer season I get totally off of the grid to stay focused on the task at hand. (DEER HUNTING) All I do is eat, sleep, deer hunt, & maybe some bird hunting. Our dial-up connection is sooooooooo slow I kept timing-out before I could get anything posted. Glad to be back Woody.
