Even if its a wild dog,, most people dont want to see a thing like this. It is my fault for looking, but killing dogs is bad buissiness for all hunters.
While hunting in the swamps,, lots of times I see HAWKS chasing the ducks,, does this mean I should kill the Hawks also? You gents are chasing the deer,, does that mean we should??? Dogs are family......... Dont forget

Hawks chasing ducks is part of nature. People *pursue* deer when they hunt, but most people (all) give up and go home eventually. Dogs won't, and they will run that deer to thier last breath. I've personally seen a beagle run deer for WAY over a mile before I lost track of it.
I'm like sleazye. I don't shoot every dog I've come across. As a matter of fact I've only ever shot one dog, and that was one that I knew to be abandoned. With a two-year-old daughter (at the time), I was not about to take any chances with a hungry chow running around.
I'll give any dog around me more than enough chances. If I can track down who it belongs to, I'll talk to them. If that doesn't work, then the dogs may not come home, especially if it's on MY land.
We may never know the story of the person who shot the arrow into that dog. Probably won't in fact. But jumping to conclusions and condemming the shooter without giving consideration to what the dog was doing isn't the best thing to do.

A shooting dog thread is just like a shooting cat post it goes no where but down hill and ends up in a whizing match. This post serves no purpose so Im locking it before it gets out of hand. h.h.
