My son and I have hunted every day for a solid week, we are taking today off to clean the garage, organize the "huntin stuff" and get some rest.
We left for Salem, Indiana on Friday 11-17, hunted around that area untill Monday 11-20, we hunted at least 7 hours each day. On Tuesday 11-21 we both shot small bucks, those were the second and third deer we had seen, combined since Saturday 11-18. My son's deer ran down into a real deep gully and I honestlt didn't think we would be able to get it out. We went into town and bought more rope and a pully. I tied the pully to a tree up hill, ran the rope from the deer to the pully and I pulled downhill wille my son tugged on the deer. It took over 2.5 hours to get his deer up the hill and 200 yards to a trail we could bring the truck to. Those deer were killed in Brown County.
Wednesday we hunted the morning and then came home from Brown County and drove to Knightstown to drop one deer off at the locker. We are having Summer Sausage, Salami, Snack Sticks and Brats made from that deer, we are jerking the other.
Thursday we hunted the put n take at Attebury till noon and got 4 birds, 3 of em were roosters.
Friday morning we hunted a new spot we have been looking at in Yellowwood.
I'm glad I don't do this for a living, we hunted about 44-48 hours this week and I am wore out!

You can't beat is. That is "a good worn out feeling".
Saw a good trick in Wyoming for getting deer out of canyons. This rancher kept a big spool of 1/4" cable in his truck, he said 1000'. We shot a deer way down in a canyon and just tied on to it and backed the truck up, while someone walked the antlers up the hill. Worked real slick.

Thanksgiving morning I helped an Uncle pull a buck up a vertical incline because the deer died in a creekbottom. That was absolutely one of the hardest things I have ever done!! I saw him again tonight and he bought a bunch of rope and a pulley for the same kind of idea. Sounds like you had a fun week!
